Hi everybody.

I just wanted to post my experience. I haven't posted in awhile, just been too busy at work. My experience and me reupping to reorder phen varies from day to day.

My headaches in the first week are now gone. I feel okay, but don't notice any more energy than normal. I actually feel almost more subdued....just even feeling. I notice I feel tired, my eyes and body. I work a lot, but didn't think the phen would ever make me so drab. I still get the dry-mouth, and for the most part, I don't eat a whole lot, just don't feel like eating- but I still do eat.

I've started to exercise again, but I'm not killing myself like I was before- with weights and cardio. I stopped the weights and mostly just jog or do fast walking, enough to get my heart-rate up to a good amount. Since I've started I think this Sunday will be 3 weeks, I've lost 10 lbs. Not bad. I thought I weighed over 170 when I started, but was at 168. I would like to get down to 140 or 145.

One thing I've been noticing is the variation in the delivery of the drug. This week, up until today, I've felt fine, not too hungry, but I continue eat, just smaller amounts. Today, I thought I was going to pass out, so I pulled into Arby's and got a small roast beef sandwhich. I was so hungry- I didn't really have the hungry pains/growling, just felt sick to my stomach. On Tuesday or Wednesday, I felt fine, I felt satisfied through the entire day- could have probably eaten nothing and been fine, but I ate at my regular times.

My weakest times for binging on food or eating out are when I'm super hungry and haven't planned ahead. I'm very fearful to go off of phen completely- I think it suppresses my appetite, but I'm eating maybe 1,000 calories a day, and I feel fine- but if I go off phen, 1,000 calories plus exercising, there's no way I'll be able to keep at the 1,000 calories.

I know I've asked this before, but nobody has really answered. Has anybody on here ever taken phen longer than 3 months- even stopping for 2-3 weeks, then going back on? I know it's not for long-term use, but I would really like to know if I could continue on the 15 mg after my 3 months is up- or if it's not even worth it?

Also, I told a friend about phen, but she is planning on getting pregnant in a few months- but wants to lose her weight as much as she can before conceiving. She asked if she could take even the lowest dose (don't remember what it is) once she is pregnant? I told her no, but have no reasons to back it up, can anybody help me? Or, is it okay?

Just wanted to say congrats to all those losing weight.

Happy New Year

Hi, Wong! You must eat more often and eat the right types of food. Even 1,000 calories can spread into 5x a day, 200 calories at a time.
Eat some nourishing protein at every sitting and bulk up on low-load vegetables. Don't waste 1 calorie on candies, white breads, potatoes, etc. Your body WILL change its desires for those sweets but it takes a few short weeks.
YOU CAN DO THIS! Stick with it, Hon!

for me, I wouldn't - they say you should be 'clean' 6 mos prior to getting pregnant.. 'they' being friend/associates in the medical field.. you don't really know what adverse affects the meds will have on the body (esp if they've never taken it before)...

Hi wongster! I'm doing 1000 cal/day too. It works well for me because I don't get really hungry. You might want to increase your calorie intake though, if you're exercising. (I should exercise more but I only do like 15 mins per day.) I wonder if my appetite will change after Phen too; eating less tends to shrink the stomach though, so we'll see.

In answer to some of your questions: My doctor has had people on Phen for much longer periods of time than 3 months, but that is determined on a case by case basis. He monitors blood pressure among other things and determines what is best. If you want to use it longer, see your doctor to make sure it's the right thing for you. If your weight loss is more cosmetic (meaning you are not obese and just want to be smaller- I don't know how tall you are but you don't seem obese based on your stats) then your doctor may not recommend it, as opposed to someone who has a lot of weight to lose that is causing health problems. For that person, the benefits outweigh the risks.

As for your friend, pregnancy and Phen is a NO NO! I was told it can cause birth defects. Once she stops using it, several months later she should have bloodwork done to make sure it's safe to get pregnant before she even tries. That was the 2nd question my doctor asked, after allergies/current meds I was taking.

Good luck to you and congrats on your progress thus far!

for me, I've learned to listen to my body (not the potato chip clamoring voice in my head ) ----

I ordered my pills from CustomHRT, and I take the 37.5's. I break them in half and have one when I first get up (around 6 am) and then another half around 11 am. Some days I'm not interested in eating, and on those days I eat the bare minimum of calories so that I'm not starving myself, but I certainly am not eating any hefty portions.

I find that perhaps a day or two later, come dinner time, I'm hungry and want to eat, so I do. That doesn't mean I stand in front of the fridge w/ a fork in my hand, I just eat a full plate of dinner, and might have a treat later (I recommend the Kashi Trail Mix cookies).

Since I've been doing this I've lost another 4 pounds like it was nothing. Keep in mind that I'm recovering from knee surgery, so my exercise is limited for the next couple of weeks. I'm doing my PT, and a very low-impact version of Tae Bo when I think my knee can tolerate it, but the key is that I'm not beating myself up over food consumed one day vs. the next.

I've managed to keep my muscle tone through weights, and something must be working, because my friend couldn't stop saying how good I looked since the last time I'd seen her, which was about a month ago.
Work the phen, don't let it work your mind.
