Nope. But why take something which can produce adiction when Melatonin is non adictive, cheap, safe and I could go on.

I agree. Who wants to be in the predicament where they realize they've gotten to the point where they can't fall asleep WITHOUT a sleep aid? That's when a sleep aid has become addictive. Its good to know there is one out there that is not.

I do have one question about Melatonin though (as I do have probs sleeping on phen sometimes myself): It may "put you out" as some people have been saying, but are you still able to wake up energized/normal or will you wake up semi-groggy? (this is when sleeping recommended 8 hours, too.. I mean, its understandable you'd be groggy if you didn't get your normal amount of sleep.. I'm simply referring to times when you do get your normal amount... will it still effect me in the morning like, say.. Tylenol PM?)

I have never woken up groggy after taking Melatonin. I am well known for my ability of survivng on next to no sleep, there are posts on this board of Susan and others begging me to get off my computer and to go bed!!!

hey, my boyfriend also takes the melatonin, he said he wakes up every day feeling great. he takes it about 9pm and goes to sleep by 10-10 :30ish and then even if my daughter wakes up in the night , he pops right up . he sure doesn't seem tired, the way he explained it to me , it just makes you drift off to sleep, and there are no said effects. His Dr. put him on this because he has sleep issues and he's been taking it for over 3 years. have a good day

Melatonin is a hormone made by a part of the brain called the pineal gland and it natural and safe. It helps us instruct our bodies know when it's time to sleep and when it's time to wake up. Melatonin pills come in 2 two types: natural and synthetic.
BE WARNED: "Natural melatonin" is made from the glands of animals. YUK. This can be contaminated and is not recommended. The synthetic form of melatonin carries no risk.

Another vote here for melatonin. I get the 6 month supply at the local pharmacy for about $6. 3mg a night usually does it for me. I make sure to take it 30 minutes before I plan to go to sleep. If you stay up past that first 45-60 minutes though, it wears off, so make sure to hit the sack. Also, you won't have to worry about the hangover effect.

Susanpesek-
I bought Natrol melatonin to help me sleep while I was on vacation. I just looked on their website and it showed that it is 100% vegetarian, so it's safe to take. The Walmart I went to in Las Vegas was out of the 3mg, so I had to buy 6mg (I was desperate for sleep, lol).
