My main job is third shift, and I have been using melatonin for years, with great results. I get the bottle of 120 tabs/3 mg. at Wal-Mart for $5.47, price current as of today.

Melatonin used to work for me but I haven't had any in a while. I used to take Ambien but was sleepy all day. Now I take 1/2 to 1/3 of an Advil PM, yes, I cut them in halves or thirds and I take 500-1000 mg of a good calcium/magnesium brand plus 250 mg vitamin C. Sometimes I have problems falling asleep still, but I believe the calcium is a muscle relaxant and vitamin C relaxes my heart rate, at least that's what I think. Also, exercise during the day helps tremendously. I do 45 min to an hour of walking and when I do that, no problems falling asleep.

I used to have problems getting to sleep a few months ago, and I started taking Valerian (from Valerian root), if anyone's interested in a more natural approach. It puts me right to sleep. The only downside is that the pills smell pretty bad. You can get them at any natural food or medicine store.

Puritan's Pride puts out a sleep aid tea that has melatonin and valarian in it. It used to help me fall asleep asap, but after using it for a few weeks I noticed my dreams were getting too vivid, and it was disturbing my sleep

I use Melatonin as well. I've actually been on it for a while because of my thyroid problems I've had issues with sleeping for a few years. even being on thyroid meds my body still won't produce enough melatonin and even when I was able to sleep thyroid patients don't reach stage four sleep. It is miserable when your boby is ready to shut down but your mind just won't! Before taking Phen I took 3mg after starting Phen a few weeks ago I had to bump it up to 5mg and it's been working great!

However, unlike others that have posted about using it, I have had a bit of a groggy feeling before, just right after I wake up though. It just feels like my body is still asleep and doesn't want to move. But it goes away after about an hour. It only happens when I give myself less than 6 hours of sleep though.

I am having tremendous problems falling asleep. Tonight will be night 4. I have a prescription for Ambien but even that which normally curbs me is not working. I am nervous that this won't go away. I would hate to have to stop taking it because I can't sleep!!! I am going to try some of the more natural rougtes instead. I usually only take ambien in extreem situations and this seemed to be one. Thanks for the info!

Be too. I started Phentermine 30 mg yesterday. I was also on this two years ago and it worked wonders and of course, I was also on weight watchers so I lost almost 60 lbs., with the help of weight watchers and Phen. Last night I woke up at 2:30 a.m., and couldn't get back to sleep. Drinking lots of water helps me with my moodiness when I am on Phen.Good Luck everyone.
