I've found that if I take phen early in the day I'm not as sleep deprived. If I take it at 11:00 then I can't sleep. I end up taking it at 8 A.M and am not as sleepless as I am taking it at 11:00.

I use melatonin, the 5mg sublingual tabs and these really do help me get to sleep.

I'm not on phen but do have trouble falling asleep sometimes . I take tylenol pm (benadryl) when necessary but it really dries me out. I'm post menopausal and have a lot of dryness, anyway.

Does the melatonin have that effect?

I've always had trouble sleeping but once I got on phen it became unbearable. Up til 4-5 am on a week night, a single mom with 2 kids and a stressful mgmt job?! Ooh helllll no!

I went out & got melatonin the day after I read this thread (2 weeks ago) and have been sleeping like a baby ever since! The only side effect I've had is more intense or vivid dreams.

I wish I had heard about this years ago. Just think of all the sleep & dreams I've missed out on!

Ive had sleeping issues for as long as I can remember although its gotten worse over the last few years. My endo told me that its not suprising since hypothyroid patients cannot reach REM so they never get that good type of sleep. She put me on Ambien for those times I really needed it but I found that even then it took me like an hour to fall asleep and after about 2-3 hours I would wake up and stay up. I ended up taking one the other night after not being able to fall asleep for several hours because of a mix of the phentermine and a diet pepsi max I had at lunch ealier that day. I decided to read a book while waiting to fall asleep since I thought it would take some time. About 10-15 minutes later I started feeling sleepy to my suprise so I got up to turn the light off and my legs gave out! Has anyone ever heard of phentermine amplifying the effects of sleeping pills let alone any other meds? I thought I read something about people on phentermine shouldnt take decongestants...
