OK. I have been reading all of the post from all of the users of this forum and decided that I would post my experience with Phentermine and weight loss....

In High School (1991) I weighed around 118 pounds. I proceeded to get married in 1993 and at that time I was around 125. I do believe that when you are in a relationship, you tend to get comfortable and boy did I. I got so comfortable, I got up to 190 pounds by 1997. Well, in 1997 I decided to do something. Not only about my weight, but also about my loser husband....so, I divorced him (175 pounds instantly gone ) and began on Phen-Fen. I lost 75 pounds down to 115 in 3 months. The Fen part of the med was recalled by the FDA and is no longer available due to heart problems. Fortunately, I had an echocardiogram and I am fine but I do know that there are alot of people who were not so lucky.
So, I kept off the weigh for the most part. I got up to 138-140 in 2001. Went on phen 30 mg (by the way in Tennessee where I am from there are "diet doctors" on just about every corner who will give the Phen to anyone that has $100 for the visit that usually takes about 5 minutes for them to examine you from head to toe) and got back to 120.
WELL, in July of 2006, I got on the scale and lo and behold....138 again....so I went online, found that I could order online and did just that. I am in Maryland now and there are no "diet doctors" here. I took the 30mg blue and clears for 3 months (til about September) and lost down to 114. That was 24 pounds in 3 months. (At the time I ordered from mylittlepharmacy which is no longer carrying the phen.)
I have done ok but I weighed after Christmas and was at 127 pounds.
I am short, 5'2" on a good day, so and extra 10 pounds on me looks like 25. I know that there are alot of people on here that have alot more weight to lose than me but I, having been at 190, know how it feels and I just do not want to get back to that point. I don't want people to look at my weight over there on the side and say "now what does she need to be on phen for?" I, just like everyone, have an ideal weight for myself and I hope that you understand the reason that I am on here.
Anyway, since I have told my life story with Phen, I would say that I am a "veteran" to the med. 10 years of experience. I am not here to offer any medical advice, I just want to make friends and have some support from people that know how hard it is to lose weight.
I ordered the 37.5mg from customhrt last week and got them on Tuesday. I started them on Wednesday. I dont want to weigh until next Wednesday so I will post and let you know my weight then.
Good luck to all of you who are on here working hard and learning new habits.
I hope that you all succeed in your weight loss and I will be here for any of you if needed.
Take care.....Kim

Hi Kim! WOOOW...you lost 75 lbs in 3 months?!? What did you do. or was it just the Phen-Fen combo? Since you seem to be an expert (I'm sucking up right now), could you post some of your best practices as to how you lost all that weight so quickly? You're my S-HERO! I wish I could lose my weight that fast. Did you have any loose skin? I'm concerned about that since I have a lot of weight to lose. I know it's easier for the skin to "snap back" when we're young. (I'm about your age based on when you graduated high school.) No judgement about why you are on the Phen. That's a personal decision that we all have to make. Best of luck on your weightloss and C O N G R A T S are in order for the weight you've already lost. Go girl!

HI greeneyes,
I am 34 years old. I was 24 when I lost the 75 pounds. I was only at 190 for about a year so I didnt really have any loose skin. But I was alot younger then and have found out that is not the case as I get older! I think that the combination of the two drug together had alot to do with the fast results. I walked 2 miles a day and only had 25 fat grams a day. I drank unimaginable amounts of water..i mean like 15-20 glasses a day. Plus I went out and danced every weekend and that was really a workout! haha
This time I am taking the 37.5mg at around 8am every morning. I dont sleep well, but I never did before and have always had a problem with insomnia. I am doing the Firm videos 3 X week and counting fat grams again.
Like I said, I am not an expert, I have just had alot of experience with the medication. Everyone is different and things that work for one dont always work for another...I know that by experience also. I have realized that this is a lifetime commitment and takes changes in lifestyle as well as a pill.
I forgot to mention that I also have rheumatoid arthritis and when I am heavier, I tend to have more swelling and stiffness. I am only on a non-steroidal now for inflammation and my pharmacist says there are no known interactions.
I hope that you continue to do well in your endeavor. 30 pounds? Sounds like you are doing something right girl!! Thats great!!
Thanks so much for responding to my post!!
Take care!
Kim
