Well, today was my second day off of phentermine. The first day I did it because well I'm not sure why, but today I said to myself "here's my true test...Can I really be good without my phen?"

I have noticed lately that I haven't been binging, but I've been eating more sweets and stuff. I've been mostly 160lbs and staggering between 159-160-161. So, I have realized that even though I've been taking the phen everyday, it's not doing anything anymore. Here's what else I have realized:

1) Even though I don't take the phen, I'm still not constantly hungry like I use to be (pre-phen). My body has finally learned that I don't need food constantly.
2) I'm not as dependant as I thought I would be on phen. It's still too early to tell, but so far I haven't thought about it at all.
3) I can do this on my own now. The phen has done it's job, and I feel like it's telling me "I've taken you this far, now you must do the rest on your own."

I think I'm going to try it for a while without the phen and see where it goes. I am halfway to my goal, and now it's definitely harder to drop the weight (I went from 17-to 6-to 5lbs a month! UGH!) but I am very motivated. If I don't see results and my appetite comes back within a week, I'll get back on, but if not then I think I'll be saving the rest of my phen (almost two months worth) until I really need it (if ever).

Is anyone else at this stage? How is it coming?

You CAN do it without the phen! Our bodies react to what we feed them by craving that nourishment we have retrained them with. It's always strange to me to find myself craving cheese rather than doughnuts.
I guess the phentermine and your habits are DEFINITELY doing their jobs!!

What a coincidence, I just posted on another thread that I have recently started the same thing. That is GREAT you are doing this!
As for me,
I am weaning myself off. Or I am in the process of. I really don't need it any more during the week. I am taking Topamax for migraines, which has been known supress appetite, so I figured- do I really need all of this in my body? Sure enough- I didn't! I only use it on the weekends when I am more social at restaurants, or at home and more apt to snack and need help curbing my appetite. My goal is to soon stop on weekends too.

Well, after what, 4 days I am very proud of myself I haven't been thinking about the phen. I haven't had any withdrawl effects nor do I feel any different from when I took them. I'm surprised at how well my body is taking to the change, which is either a good thing or not. I could have been tolerant to them, so getting off had no effect whatsoever, or my body just doesn't react immensly to drug withdrawls. So far so good, we will see how it goes!

Good for you! I'm going to have to do the same thing pretty soon. We can't stay on the phen forever. I'm down to taking about 1/4 th of a 37mg just to maintain, just ordered another bottle for "insurance" ha!
