I used drnatura also-and it worked wonders. I've had "problems" ever since I started having kids. It was a little expensive, but I thought it was worth it. It did not make me lose weight, but I do feel like I have a better metabolism when I'm not chronically corked, lol.
I don't buy into the whole detox
diet thing, and not everyone needs a colon cleanse.
For anyone not wanting such dramatic results as advertised on sites like drnatura, there are natural solutions that are inexpensive, proven, and have little or no risk with use.
Psyllium husks-they can be bought in bulk, or in capsules. Metamucil makes some cheap ones, and they work pretty good. It is just a form of fiber-and it is the top ingredient in any colon cleanse product.
Walmart also sells something I think works almost as well as drnatura called flush the fat. It's cheaper there than online. It has almost exactly the same ingredients as drnatura, but in capsules. $24 for 90 pills in the diet section, which will last about a month, and a 3 month cleanse is recommended. Don't count on
weight loss with it, and it's a little offputting that it is sold as that type of product. I just happened to have someone tell me about it for this purpose, tried it, and it does work pretty well. If you check
www....flushthefat....tv there is a list of ingredients to compare to any other product.
In essense, there isn't much difference between the expensive stuff, the cheap barebones herbals, and in between besides the marketing. Every few months I have to take something for a week or two to get back on track, but it's worth it.
Colon cleansing IS highly debated. There are small risks, mostly with actual colonics. If you go to the extreme, electrolyte levels can be effected-and elderly people especially should be careful. There have been deaths associated with the overuse of colonics (water/saline irrigation). Of course the best method to correct these problems is to eat right, all the time, from birth. But who does that? Western society statistically has the most horrible diet regime and weight/food related health problems. If you have spent a good portion of your adult life eating junk like most of us have, re-establishing the healthy level of good and bad bacteria in the intestines may actually be beneficial.
