I was so sad when I was that big. I hated my weight and felt like it made me ugly. I didn't want people to see me that hadn't seen me in years because I more than doubled my body weight. I rarely took pictures. I looked like a bloated pig and the weight made me look like I was in my 40's, not my 30's. I haven't expressed to anyone how I feel now so I wanted to share it here. I want to cry right now, but this time it's because I am happy. I have a lot more weight to lose but I know I can do it...we ALL can do it!

Isn't it an amazing feeling actually KNOWING that it's possible and that you have the strength and determination to lose the weight...It never seemed possible before, but I had never been dedicated to exercise like I am now. I love the feeling after a run. Its so satisfying...you feel so accomplished. People ask me all the time which diet I was on and I tell them the "half and double" diet.....eat half as much and double the exercize. It has been really simple. I eat the same stuff just half of it.......common sense tells you that you can't have cheesecake everyday...you know! I eat bad stuff sometimes and forgive myself...I allow it, just not every day b/c if I feel too deprived, I wont stick to it. But as long as I am running at least 3 times a week, it almost doesn't matter what I eat, the scale won't go up....believe me I tried it at Christmas...I deserved to gain 10 lbs......but I continued to run and didn't. I just felt like sharing a little bit...I do tend to ramble sometimes though...

hey greeneyes,
I know how you felt and its a horrible way to feel inside. everytime I looked in the mirror I felt the same, no pictures, less going out so I didn't bump into anyone. If you want to cry, do it because your happy at how far you have come. you look great! I am so proud of you, you have come so far, and think skinny thoughts. your still the same great person whatever weight you are. thanks lin

OMG I felt the same way, and then when I did see pictures of me I was even more disgusted. I am proud of all of us for finally doing something about it!!! And Sista, you and your daughter are beautiful!!

Wow this is so awesome! I love seeing befores and afters because you can really see progress of people. Heck, I looked at myself before and after and I could tell there are differences in my stomach and bust! Seeing yourself everyday, or having the same people see you everyday, those changes aren't seen as dramatically as if you did a before and after.
Keep up the good work ladies!

I love you guys...I don't wanna be emotional...but it's nice to have people who can relate to how you feel and I thank you for the support. Mary you are so right. Exercise does make you feel better. Once you get in the groove of doing it, you almost wonder why you haven't been doing it all along. It's like a completely legal high! I sleep better and feel more energetic during the day. It's extremely cold in Philly right now so I can't go to the track. I've been staying in doing exercise videos. And thanks Lin and Kscott. Maybe this summer I'll be in more photos. I only have that one picture of me and my daughter because my mother-in-law made me take it. Girls (because losing weight makes us look a lot younger) before you know it it'll be summer time and watch out! We'll all be stunners!

I haven't had time to post lately :( just run in and read and on the go again.

GRATS! Greeneyedsista you are looking so great and motivation to alot of us.

I have been looking to get on a new program like The Firm - walking is doing ok, but it's not an overall work out even incline walking on the treadmill I have. What exercise videos are you doing?

Has anyone ever done this or thought about it?

Aerobics and weights combined for a total fitness workout - TheFIRM Official Website
It says:
This new 5-in-1 piece of equipment will add variety and brand-new moves to the tried-and-true FIRM® foundation! The exercises will target places and muscles you never knew you had! The TransFIRMer™ was designed with multiple uses in mind and has five different configurations to take each workout to the next level. With brand-new choreography, this system can reshape your entire body, especially targeting the areas most women want to change - the backs of their thighs, hips, abs, and fanny!

You have to do whatever exercize that you get excited about...at least that's how I feel. Before, I always tried to do whatever exercize my sister-n-law was into...that never worked. I had to find the exercizes that worked for me...which was jogging, sit ups, push ups, lounges, and as far as exercize video's go....the old tae-bo tapes are what I love....not the new "boot camp" ones....I'll never be in good enough shape to do those stupid things...they're rediculously hard. But the old regular tae-bo tapes are an awesome cardio/strengh training work out. I hope this helps "thewomanwithin67". Have a great day!
