io4it, I think you have hit on something here. I know several members have complained of this yet I can't find any scientific reason for the back pains. I think you may be right!

Wow...I started this thread, and never noticed that anyone responded to it!

I can now report that the back pain eventually ceased. I still don't know if phen was the culprit, but it (thankfully) went away. It was some of the worst back pain I have ever expericenced. I get backaches regularly (when I say regularly, I don't mean frequent, just that I do get them. It might only be once a year, but is a chronic problem.

This pain was different though. It hurt no matter what I did. Normally, as long as I lay still, it doesn't hurt, but with this pain, no matter how I sat, layed, stood, hobbled....it hurt!

So, the good new is, no more pain!!! The bad news is, I still have no idea if it was phen or how to help others with the same problem. The only advice I can give, is that..... If your back is hurting, you think it may be from phen, and you bowl, don't bowl until your back doesn't hurt anymore! I made this mistake and went from feeling better, to worse than I was initially.

I've only been on Phen for 2 days now, but it is KILLING my lower back. So much so that I cannot sleep at night. I've increased my water intake 10 fold (the dry mouth drives me nuts.) I've tried bathes, Tylenol and I even tried NyQuil last night to help me sleep. To no avail of course.

I have some oxycodone from a sprain just a couple of months ago, I'm going to try that for sleep tonight. There's no way I'm stopping Phentermine over this though, it's working far too well.

I was told by a doctor in August that I have Degenerative Disc Disease, because of my sudden lower back pain. He told me that I could have physical therapy or just lose weight to help it out. After that, I didnt have anymore pain. I started Phen at the end of October and i did great, but in the last 2 weeks, I have been having the back pain again. Do u think its from the Phen? But the 1st month on it, I didnt have pain.

But what I have noticed is that when i do exercise, the pain is decreased. Maybe i need to just do a moderate workout everyday to lose the weight faster and for my back pain to get better

I was just looking up what could be the reason for my back pain too. I have been taking phentermine for a month now and i just started to notice that my pain comes about 15 minutes after I take it and then it gets worse and worse until night when the medicine wears off. I believe this is the reason for my pain. What I am curious of is why it is making it hurt so badly. If phentermine is aggitating some of the genital organs that are connected with lower back pain than I am afraid that this medicine might be damaging them. For the pain to be this severe than it cannot be good.
