This is because I have wanted to ask this awhile and just didn't want to be brave enough to do it. If you have any comments or want to list what has happened, please post that.

I was on Phen from Aug - March. I too stopped cold turkey and threw $150+ of meds down the commode when my husband said for the last time that it was affecting my personality and I didn't want to admit to it.

With my prescription from my PCP, I didn't notice anything (first 3 months) it was when I ordered online that I started noticing the "personality" problems. After the first full month, it worsened and I started feeling like I HAD to take it daily.

That got me to thinking.

How many of us have had problems that ordere offline?

How many of us have had problems that get prescriptions from our local pharmacies?

I am intersted to know because I want to lose another 50-70 lbs and I have an appt with my PCP on Friday. I'm not sure what is worse - the side effect of Phen on my "personality" or gaining weight back, making me depressed and feeling like total *&$#?

I have never ordered online, thus my first time taking phen was when my doctor prescribed it for me last month. As far as personality changes I cant say that I have had any problems with that. I did have some insomnia but that was mainly all. I didnt feel a energy rush or jittery like some people do. I have been on phen for about 6weeks now and I cant even tell I am taking it but it must be helping considering I am losing some each week. Not as much as some but still losing.

I had no side effects other than not being able to eat until around the 13th or 14th week of being on Phen, and only notice the dramatic change when I went to an online pharmacy.

I'm seeing a trend with longer term use with or without a doctor's care - I'm on 3 Phen forums/boards and this seems to be the happening more the longer you stay on it.

Let's see for me --

The first time I used it was through a weight loss clinic and it was only 15 mg. That was back in '97-98 (can't remember the exact date). I don't remember having a side effects from it. I lost the weight.

Then when 9/11 happened I went into a tailspin (long story) decided moved to London in Dec. '01 to be with my boyfriend (who is now my husband) and gained weight due to /my experience w/9/11/and the stress of moving trans-atlantically, etc. I went back on it when we got engaged a couple of months before our marriage in 2004. I brought them online (yellow 30 mg) and they worked wonders. Although this time around I did have terrible insomnia for about a week or so but it did subside along with the frequent toilet breaks (and it wasn't from drinking all that water either )

Maintained my weight up until my pregnancy. Which brings us to now. I did order online (yellow 30 mg) and didn't feel they were working don't know why, I guess because I DIDN'T get insomnia, the frequent toilet breaks or that "dry mouth", etc. Funny, I know. So I went to a bariatric physician (to go legit) this past week who prescribed me 37.5 (the white one with the blue specks) and I still feel the same as I did with the yellow ones I took last week.

But all-in-all the first two times they worked wonderfully and I was only on them each time for something like 3 months. With both times having maintained my weight for a long time. But I think if 9/11 never happen I would have maintained my weight up until my pregnancy. That is my experience to date.

I voted no, I am careful not to let this get the best of me. i have from a family filled with addiction..so ekk i have to watch it! but i havent found it to be an issue!
