Well she said that I could get them through her or give me a script. I chose to get them through her. She also said it would be cheaper as she gets them directly from the manufacturer. Is there a difference with getting them directly from a physician vs. a pharmacy?

Sometimes we don't know why that happens, Nylon. The others are right; you are doing all the right things. For some unknown reason, I, too, ate less than 1300 calories every day without fail and still averaged 1/2 pound per week.

REMEMBER, Hon; this is for a lifetime and it's not a 'destination' but a 'journey'.

STAY THE COURSE!! You have found a healthy place to stand, so STAND UP TALL AND DIG YOUR HEELS IN and don't you dare become discouraged now!! Get mean about it, Girlie! YOU are going to make it work!! KEEP doing the right things, over and over and I KNOW you will be shocked soon at how fast your loss seems to be happening.
OKAY, SOLDIER! Heels down, together, chest out, chin up, now, STAND!

It does get frustrating when you dont lose..I didnt lose anything for 2 weeks!! can you imagine..and then it just started. The main thing is to keep that metabolism going..dont let it go to sleep. Try to eat smaller meals but more often..I try to eat at least every three hours. even if its 100 cal snacks. I also do try to add a little bit of sugar into my diet but I do still count it. Maybey a kudos bar or similar, the sugar in it will kick start the old metabolism good style. Another thing I found..and this will sound crazy..if you do not eat enough calories your metabolism will slow down...make sure you are getting at least 1400 cals..for now anyway, then maybey you can drop the intake a little as your progress. If you just suddenly drop your calories too fast and too low your body goes into a kind of shock. ( Just my opinion) also you might want to try halving your phen tablet..taking half in the morning and half afternoon. Another thing I heard but there have been mixed feelings about it was that taking large amounts of caffiene kinda slows up the phen. Personally I tried stopping the caffiene and the weight started dropping off. It might have just been the diet..but hey..Im not going back to caffiene just incase there is some truth to the matter. Please hang in there..as I said it took me 2 weeks before anything and I was ready to throw in the towel but I hung in there. You can do it! and we are all behind you 100 percent.
Daisy x

Thank you SO MUCH for both of your sentiments - Susan and Daisy. I will go fourth....and solider on

Too many calories, too little! Oh why can't this just be straight forward.

I do have to say before I starting writing down a food diary again I would eat a slice of whole wheat toast with butter everyday for breakfast and a cup of my java with 2 tsp. of natural cane sugar AND French vanilla creamer. Lunch ate nothing either because I was out doing errands with the baby, working out, playing with the baby or just wasn't hungry. I put all my energy into my little girl that I am left exhausted and at times and didn't feel like eating. Then dinner came along and it would be healthy but the portion was more than likely way too big.

So now I'm back to three meals a day and just about eating 1200 calories, if that. As for caffeine, I stopped all of my coffee drinking. It's not like I drank that much anyway. It was just one cup. Soda -- there is NO soda in this house. I never drink soda. Uuuugh I could go on but I won't .

I shall see. Perhaps my body needs some time to readjust. I just feel so disgusting. Not to be conceited but I use to have a kick-ass body before my baby. (back then I was so confident that I had boudair pictures taken of me for husband as a gift ) I promised myself that I wouldn't be "one of those women". Look at me now. What a joke I am. That's how I feel. I just need to get back to myself for me.. Oh anyway thanks for the vent.

Don't give up, sometimes it takes awhile for your body to adjust.

When I first started in August, I lost around 2 lbs my first week. I stayed on until March and lost almost 50 lbs and took a break.

I went off for almost 6 weeks then went to my pcp. He put me on a different program - Adipex and a different eating plan (not my favorite but I'll stick with it :P)

My first day I lost 4.6 lbs! talk about weird - last time I ate very little the first 3 days and this time I ate around 1250 cals and have to stay between 1200-1500.

This dr does 1/3 Carbs 1/3 Fats & 1/3 Protein - no bread, carrots, beets, rice, pasta, potatoes, corn, yams, sweet potatoes, cereal; no pineapple or bananas; no red meat or shellfish and NO dairy of any kind...my question was WHAT can I eat? lol

Lots of vegetables, fruits; white meat and lentils.

They recommend something similar to this:

Breakfast: Oatmeal/Chicken/Tuna
Lunch: Salad w/Olive Oil or Protein Supplement Bar
Dinner: 1/2 plate of Green Veggies or Hard veggies, 1/4 Fruits; 1/4 Proteins
2 small snacks of fruit or veggies

at least 64 oz of water/tea/coffee that you brew yourself

Exercise 3-5 times a week 20-30 min a day to begin with.

And to only eat when hungry; not just because the clock says it's mealtime.

Oh, by the way - for anyone who has not filled a prescritpion at Wal-Mart before, a word of caution:

If you have a script that is for a brand name prescription, MAKE SURE you tell them at the window NO GENERICS! or they tell you tough luck it's a law they can substitute; even if the dr wrote it out for Brand X - the dr has to put MEDICALLY necessary on the script for them to honor it - or you the patient have to request it (I found out the hard way and lost $21.98)

Good luck and hang in there

I posted on the thread about Brand/Generic also, just to make sure sorry if it's a pain.

My Physician told me on Friday there IS a difference between the generic and brand names.

Adipex is a bit stronger and does not "release" the medication into your system quite the way that "generic" Phentermine does.

Adipex is supposed to last a bit longer through the day in your system.

If they were the SAME thing, then wouldn't you think the pricing would be the same and effects the same?

I have taken Phentermine 3 times now, this is my first time on Adipex - there is a difference when you take it - talk to people who have taken it

I am on generic adipex(phentermine 37.5) My first week I really felt it. These last two weeks, I don't really feel it at all. I did start taking it first thing in the morning w/water. Then I eat breakfast about 1/2-1 hour after. I eat 6 smaller meals/snacks and drink water a lot. Yesterday, I forgot my water bottle and didn't drink nearly as much as I regularly do and I could tell. That is what works best for me. I tried the 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 in the afternoon. I still like the morning routine.
