For those of you who have been following my other thread about the
weight loss clinic I am going to.......well I went to see my regular PCP today (because this bariatric physician wanted blood work done on me, and EKG, etc.) to get the test done. After all the work was done he walks in and says what can I do for you today Ms. (calls me by my last name w/an Italian accent because we're both from the "old country" ). So I told him what I was doing. He looks at me and says just like I thought he would. Com'on you're a "substantial" women (guess he can't really say curvaceous, etc. for legality reasons

) you're not meant to be a waif. Yes, I know but I'm also not meant to be fat either and I don't want to be substantial either. Good thing I like him and know his sense of humor or I would have been WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!!
So we went back and fourth and I told him what I wanted to be about 125-130. He said try 140!

140! Are you kidding me on a 5'2 frame? Again, he went into my muscle, physique, etc. then went into how years ago (when EVERYONE farmed to get food) and how food was scarce, etc. Those that survived were the ones with the "slower metabolism" because their body was good at "keeping those extra calories for survival" and that my darling is how you are genetically built. Some people's genetics have not come up to speed and you're one of them and so am I

. I said well I don't need this extra layer of fat. He's really very funny. I said what you can do for me is prescribe them for me this way you can monitor me instead of this other doctor whom I don't know from adam. He said OK. I'll give you a prescription. What were you on. I told him and he said ok. Here's the script and I'll see you in a month...

WOW!! I should have just went to him from the start instead of stressing over where to get them, who to get them from, etc.
And it's way cheaper then paying $45 a week. Instead I pay my co-pay of $25 and $34.00 for my script (37.5) for the month!!
So the lesson in all of this those who are searching online, etc. Don't be afraid to ask your PCP especially if you have a long standing rapport with him!! Even if you don't, you should try. You don't ask, you won't know!!
P.S. So now I'm back on the blue/white speckled tablets. But this imprint has a "V" on the front and 5030 on the back.
