Hello everyone,
I am new to Phentermine and I have a few questions in regards to using it. I only began taking it on Friday, so this is my 5th day. My physician has put me on Phentermine 37.5mg once daily - is this enough?

I also have some questions regarding odd side effects that I have expierienced. My mouth is EXTREMELY dry, my lower jaw is tight and I feel at times as if I am on a emotional roller-coaster - I go from High to Low emotions easily. What couses this and are any of these symptoms normal? If anyone has expierienced them, what advice do you have for dealing with them?

Thank you so much for any advice that you may have. As I said, I am just starting, but I have high hopes. I am ready to feel like "ME" again soon!

The symptoms are normal. They will subside. Drink a lot of water everyday. Finally, taking one a day is enough. Good luck!!! There is a lot you can look up on this site that is very helpful.

Hello and welcome. Your symptoms sound pretty normal to me. The emotional roller coaster was one that I did not have though. I don't know if that is normal. You will need to drink lots of water. Chewing sugarless gum can be helpful for dry mouth. Your lower jaw is probably stiff due to your inability to relax fully while you are sleeping and from clenching your teeth during both waking and sleeping hours. I have had this problem for a long time. You have to learn to be aware of this while awake. The way I do it is to allow my tongue to rest at the top of my mouth (touching the roof of the mouth with mouth closed). keep your teeth apart at a relaxed space. Once you learn to relax your jaw, you will feel better. This is kind of hard to explain so I hope I explained it ok.

When I began phentermine I had dry mouth, a lot of extra energy to the point of shakiness, a headache, insomnia and.....weightloss! Most of the negative side effects will go away within a week. Your body just needs to adjust.
Make sure you are eating several small meals throughout the day. 200 to 300 calorie meals at a time to make up about 1200 calories a day is good. Don't drink caffeine and try to change bad eating habits while you are on phentermine so when you are off it you will be prepared for a lifetime of healthy eating.

Good luck!!!!
