O.K. I have dry mouth problems since starting phentermine but now I also have bad breath...disgusting I know. I chew gum and have mints but I can still tell and so can my family any hints? Have any of you had this problem?

OMG..I know this is not funny...but coffee almost came out my nose...I can just see your family saying..."Ooh, Val..yo breath is kicking, dang" I am sorry...but I have so been there...There is nothing worse than to be out in public and have your 4 year old say to you that your "Breath stinks" while you are leaning in for a kiss at Wal-mart! I started brushing my tongue with a scraper and although I struggle with water consumption, that HAS made it much better...I too, rely on mints and gum and those listerine mouth strips. Anyone else with suggestions?

It would not be so bad but, my 14 yo DD who already has a fedish with her mouth, she has the cleanest teeth around I swear, surely lets me know that my breath is bad, and she does not care where or when she says it...I guess I will buy stock in freshmints.

LMAO!
SKinny is right-tongue scraping will help. The reason your breath is kickin right now is because without the natural wet environment from saliva, bacteria is getting it on in there with a vengeance.

Scrape your tongue, and chew some sugar free gum. It will stimulate your mouth to produce saliva on it's own and keep those funky bacteria at bay.

GREAT IDEAS! Scrape your tongue and brush after breakfast , lunch and dinner. Know that awful morning breath? It is icky because the saliva hasn't naturally washed it out~Rebel is SPOT ON.
If you just can't tolerate chewing gum, even drinking water all day produces some saliva..or talking a lot..Maybe just taking one bite of an apple every hour you are home can help if youchew that bite 25 times!!!

So what's up??.... has the breath gotten better? I hope that the tongue scraping idea helped alot.. I know that I have heard alot about that being a good remedy for bad breath.. or to atleast keep it under control.
