ok i am 24 years old....and im 5'9 weight about 180 pounds and im trying to lose 25 pounds till my wedding on December 15th..i started phentermine 37.5 about a week ago well in short...i have never had any sort of health problem before and i have a good family health history...phetermine is working awesome for me in suppressing my appetite ....my 3rd day on phentermine i started to get chest pains...so i want to know is that should i flush my 37.5 mg tablets in the toilet or the chest pain i am getting is the usual side effect of phen..i researched online and someone told me that chest pains are the usually side effect and they usually go away after 2 weeks....on July 13th i was 202 pounds and wanted to lose weight...then i started to take LIPOVARINE...i was exercising almost everyday and counting my calories.. i had lost about 22 pounds and a week ago i figured that i got 2 months left for my wedding so i want to accelerate my weight loss by taking phen...but now i am getting chest pains now and i would hate to give up taking phen and not lose those pounds i really wanna lose but on the other hand i dun wanna damage my body permanently since i am only 24 years old and i haven't had any problems..i need your recommendations...should i go back on lipovarin( i was having no side effects with that) or should i stick to phen because the chest pain is the usual side effect and it will go away...please help me because i am running out of time and my wedding is coming up soon..

Hi and welcome,

Sorry to hear what you are going thru. Personally if It were me I would stop the phen and not take them again until I saw my Doctor. A few lbs lost are not wirth your life or health. I hope you got the phen from a Doctor if not I still would stop and see one anyways to get checked out it may be nothing but you should not take that chance. I have not heard of a side effect of chest pains from phen but anything is possible. You know what else if for some reason you can not take them you can still lose weight without them. It is nice to have that extra help but plenty of people lose weight without any extra help. Do not get discouraged you could still lose I bet you could lose pretty close to that 25 lbs for your wedding in dec. between now and then. Think of how proud you would feel doing it on your own. There is alot of useful information on here to use and people who know alot about loosing weight that could help answer some of your questions all you have to do is ask. Not forgetting about all the support you can get also. You should start a Journal here if you have not already. sorry so long a post. Good luck to you and let us know what happens.

Chest pains are not normal! If I had chest pains I'd go to the ER. It could be nothing.....maybe stress, but why not find out? Please get it checked out.

Irish and Squeekie gave you some well heeded advice! I wouldn't take another phen until I was seen by a physician. Phen doesn't cause chest pains! Check in and let us know how you are doing.
