Hey there! I am new to the site...I have been taking the 15mg Phentermine for exactly 2 weeks now and I have lost 11 pounds. I am trying to do as low carb of a diet as I can. I love carbs so it's hard. I haven't worked out because of my schedule but I plan on doing so very soon. I'm very happy with the 11 pounds I have lost so far though! I also have decided to begin taking Alli in combination with the Phentermine. Have any of you done this? I'm thinking it should be fine considering they are 2 completely different types of diet aids. Alli works in the digestive tract and Phen works with your central nervous system. I tried Alli when it first came out but didn't feel like I saw much of a difference on it alone, so with the Phen I'm hoping it will help me out a little bit more. I am open to any suggestions you might have to help me and everyone else on here out! I am in a family wedding in May 2008 and am determined to get to my goal weight of 150! Any help is much appreciated!!! Good luck to all of you!!!

Oh please dont take any medications UNLESS you talk to your doctor. Girl that sounds dangerous! Plus thats an over the counter drug. After I have been on Phen from my doc, I wont take anything over the counter anymore. They are not FDA approved. TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE DOING THIS. Just my opinion.

Congrats on your weightloss!

Thanks for your opinions...I know Alli is an over the counter drug but it is FDA approved and they're totally different so they shouldn't cause any problems when mixed. Hmmm...I guess we'll see! All the Alli does is block the fat you eat from being absorbed. Phen works in your brain to block the appetite.

Hi Bornintokaosbabe

If you don't want to talk to your DR, then ask the pharmasits before you but it.

It may not be what you want to hear but 11lbs in 2 weeks and wanting more is kinda greedy, the healthy loss if you want it to stay off is about 2/3 a week aklthough I do understand that the first week can be a biggy so that may have a lot to do with the 11lbs.

Let us know what you decide and tell us how it goes. It may be worth sending a PM to Susanpeske or another moderator on here as there's not a lot they don't know about Phen!

Good luck.

Before taking them I would run a drug interaction between the 2 medicines. 11lbs is alot of weight in 2 weeks and I don't think even taking both phen and alli, that you will lose more. Alli, would only help you if you eat alot of high fat foods. I know it is your decision but just be careful because you could set yourself up for failure. Just take it day by day and remember that this weight didn't come on overnight and it isn't gonna vanish overnight. Good luck and stay in touch.

I think you should check it out first with either your doc or the pharmacy before taking it. I personally wouldn't do it. Heck 11 pounds in 2 weeks is GREAT!!

And with phen since it curves your appetite, so you are not eating as much as you normally would anyway, so your fat intake is going to be low. Especially is you are going about this the right way and eating healthy. Alli traps fat you take in, and gets rid of it, but if you are eating the right foods in the first place you should not need the Alli.

I know in my case if I am going to spend the money I spent to see a doctor and go EVERY month to see him and then pay for my phen I am NOT going to waste my money by eating junk or high fat foods in the first place.

Hey guys! Thanks to all of you that gave me some advice. I did talk to my Dr. and he said that taking them together would be fine. I don't eat any high fat foods on my diet but he said that it would help me with anything that I do eat that may contain even a little bit of fat. They're 2 very different drugs, but both are obviously FDA approved and can be used together, like Phen and Meridia. It's been about 2 1/2 weeks now and although I don't weigh til Tuesday, I'm hoping for a few more pounds off. I'll take what I can get! I also started working out today, finally! I'm thinking about joining the winter indoor soccer league also. I love it! Good luck everyone!!!
