Is there any way to buy phentermine w/o a perscription? I have bought it before w/o one and my HMO won't perscribe it. What can I do? Am I just SOL?

As of January 7, 2007, it’s been illegal to sell or buy any controlled substance online without a doctor’s written prescription. No faxing or phone calls accepted, either. That put many members in a bind. If anyone sells you a controlled substance without a prescription, they do so illegally.
Phone your pharmacist and ask for the names of doctors who have given scripts for phentermine. If he/she is very familiar with you, they may give you some names.
Many physicians will prescribe other weight loss medicines.
The best way is to go through your family doctor or any specialist with whom you have already established a relationship. The 'diet doctors' do sound expensive. If you phone your regular doctor who wouldn’t prescribe phen, he might prescribe something else to help you over that 1st hump. Many do.
Beyond their recommendations, scroll the net's information about your local hospitals under their weight management area of the hospital's site-- usually under 'dietary'--and see what you can find out...Perhaps there's someone with whom you can freely discuss this. Many times your local health clinic offers help.

If not, call your local gym and go visit a trainer there and speak with them in private asking where they get their weight control management pills. Phone or enter GNC.
