Taking Phentermine with my Thyroid Meds..HELP

Hello,

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (low thyroid function) last summer. My doc put me on .05mg of levothyroxine. I just started Phentermine on Monday. I am taking half a pill for a week so my body can adjust then I will be up to 37.5 a day next monday.

The weight loss doc said it was okay to mix these two meds. My question is, I am supposed to take my thyroidmeds first thing in the morning before I eat and I am wondering if I can take the Phen and the Levothyroxine around the same time?

I'm not sure and anyhelp would be greatly appreciated!!

I also have hypothyroidism and take 100mcg of synthroid. I researched it and there was no contraindiction between the two. You will be fine if you take both at the same time. Just make sure to keep taking the thyroid pill every day....out of the 2, the thyroid pill may actually help more in losing weight now that your metabolism is stable. Anyway, I've had awesome success with phen while on synthroid, so no worries!

You CAN take them together. To be on the safe side, run interaction checks for ALL your medicines, and make sure it will not react with those you might take later in the day, including vitamins.

Yes, that's what I do. I take my levothyroxine at 8:00 A.M and my phentemine at 10:00 and then eat an hour later. I take .50 mcg of levothyroxine. So far I have been doing great. Have lost 11 pounds in 2 days on 30 of phentermine.

Yes, that's what I do. I take my levothyroxine at 8:00 A.M and my phentemine at 10:00 and then eat an hour later. I take .50 mcg of levothyroxine. So far I have been doing great. Have lost 11 pounds in 2 days on 30 of phentermine.
