Did anyone start off taking phentermine first for a significant amount of time and now is taking the phen-pro cocktail? If so, do you feel it has helped jump start your weight loss? If you are taking this, what dosages of pro? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Needy~ If you refer to taking a small measure of Prozac, the most popular prescription is 5 mg., added to phentermine. This should NEVER be attempted on your own because only your doctor knows what your system needs.

Let us know if they prescribe that for you and whether it works for you!

It's taking phentermine with Prozac (fluoxetine) . Apparently, the Prozac helps to sustain the effects of taking phentermine. I just started it though so I am unable to provide my personal experience with it.

Ohh..my dr presc wellbutrin w/my phen but i didnt feel comfortable taking it so he said i didnt have to, he made it seem that since phen makes u kinda hyper that the anti-depressant would have a calming effect on u. He said unless i have prob w/phen on its own then i shouldnt worry about not taking it.

I have taken phen-pro, phen-lexapro and phen-wellbutrin... the phen-pro i didn't like.. the phen-lexapro did help, but lost my sex drive completely.. the phen combined with wellbutrin worked SO well i dropped an extra 12 lb in 2 weeks.. You're just a little jittery the first few days then you get used to it, plus wellbutrin increases your sex drive. I would suggest if you are ona combo like that to take something like a low mg of ativan to help calm your nerves a bit the 1st week and to help you sleep.

I would just be careful about taking wellbutrin, it is a stimulant and when you decide to get off of it, it can have the downer effect, causing depression in some.
