I have a quick question.......I was instructed to take a whole pill....but it made me so HYPER....so I only took a half a day and lost a ton of weight....but always had my scripts filled in fear that I might need them if I should regain the weight or just wanted that energy boost. I have nearly a 5 month supply left....keep....or trash it?

Anyway I have maintained my weight of almost 4 months...... so do these pills expire......do I need to throw them away...or should I keep just in case
I need to add that this was a question asked by my friend sitting here....she has no computer.

When does it expire ? As long as the bottles are not opened and stored as recommended,I would hold on to them. I've taken here recently, not this medication but, a different one that was two years expired and it worked great for my medical ,condition. My bottle was never opened before, I started using it.

I think, maybe in some cases depending on how old the medication is, it may lose some of the effectiveness but, not all and I would think it would have to be older than a couple of years or so.kwim?

Also you can talk to a pharmacist to see if the medicine is good for a certain time after the expiration date.

p.s.
If you decide to get rid of your medications, flush them down the toilet, that's the safest way.

Kawa, most of us would LOVE to buy them from you, but, well...it's illegal. You please make EXTRA sure you do not respond to the many requests you will probably get from folks who want to purchase them.

If it were me, I would place them in a dark bottle with a moisture plug (those little plastic thingies)and store them at a fairly controlled temperature. Some medicines are good for YEARS!

And congratulations on your loss!

you shouldn't flush them down the toilet either...thats how things that aren't supposed to be there get in our water streams...

Flushing old medication down the toilet is what I've read to properly dispose of them. Any other suggestions ? The only other one I have, is to turn them over to a pharmacist. I'm sure he would know the proper way to dispose of them.

Absolutely not by a garbage can, where anyone can get a hold of them.

but if you flush them then they could seep into our water...do you want your kid drinkin that?? just my opinion but you do what you want....

i would give them to a pharmacist or throw them in some kind of hazardous waste disposal...

I was not disagreeing with you and your right. That was only what, I've read.

I think the pharmacist idea, I last suggested is a way better idea myself.
