My doctor just prescribed Adipex for me and I went to get the prescription filled the same day. I got the generic which is phentermine. I've been taking it for a week now and I haven't felt a bit different. I'm still just as hungry and I haven't experienced any side effects. I don't get it.

A family friend that takes it said that I should feel the effects the very first day so I had my mom take one to see if she would feel anything and she said she didn't feel any effects either. I called the pharmacy where it was filled to check the expiration date and it was perfectly fine. I'm not sure what else to do

I have to say I would personally go back to the pharmacy and check. Is it a commercial pharmacy?

Yeah I had it filled at Kroger Pharmacy. Maybe it's just not for me? I do take Lexapro but I don't think that it's supposed to lower the effectiveness of phentermine.

How are you taking the Phen? Time of day... how long before a meal... etc?

Excellent question! When you take it makes a HUGE difference. Take it early in the morning with 8 ounces of water. Wait at least 45 minutes before eating your first of several 200 calorie meals consisting of complex carbs, a protein source, and volumous vegetables, which have loads of nutrients, but few calories.

Who makes this tablet? Can you describe the pill and the markings in detail? PM me so I will be sure to see the post and I can try to look it up for you~

I take one pill everyday right when I wake up. Then I usually go get ready for work and everything and eat something small for breakfast (usually half a bagel with jelly or watermelon).

I have lost two pounds but I think that's more from pretty much starving myself. The pill itself is white/blue specked and says A-159 on it. It says that the manufacturer is Actavis.

My mom keeps trying to tell me that they just don't work for us which I guess is possible but it seems like so many people have had a great experience on phentermine. I definetely admire you guys!

Thanks for all the help!

A good while back, Amide was sold to Actavis. Actavis purchased Amide..

"Actavis to acquire US generics company Amide
Actavis Group and Amide Pharmaceutical, Inc., a privately owned US generic pharmaceuticals company, announce today that Actavis has reached an agreement to acquire Amide for an initial gross consideration of US $500 million in cash with up to an additional US$100 million payable over two years subject to performance. Upon closing the acquired company is expected to have a cash balance of approximately US $40 million. The deal brings together two premier generics companies with complementary strengths in Europe and the US and represents a significant milestone in Actavis’ plans to become one of the leading global companies within the sector."

Actavis might POSSIBLY have been sold sealed bottles of medicines; I just don't know how that works. Might prove helpful to call the pharmacist and ask their rep for Actavis.Though I can't imagine it, the medicine could have been exposed to heat or light that MAY have caused a problem....
