I am going out tonight and am not sure if I should or shouldn't have a drink -- I am currently taking 15 mg of phen. Has anyone had a drink or two while on phen? Did you have worse side effects? I'm a bit nervous to tempt it so mostly I will pass on the alcohol but was just curious what others may have experienced.

Hi! I am Cindy too! I have been on phen 37.5 mg for a month now and every Friday night I go to eat hot wings and drink beer. I have never had one problem at all (and I have had 4 or 5 beers) and never bothered me. I will say I dont want to eat as much though when I go out thats the only difference. I think you should be fine on a drink or two.

Phentermines act almost like amphetamines. They can increase your breathing and heart rate at the same time as they decrease your appetite. They can also make you very thirsty, and make you have trouble sleeping. Large doses can cause an intense high but also restlessness, shakiness, sweating, anxiety, headache, blurred vision, dizziness, irregular heartbeat and chest pain. Some users feel powerful, and others get hostile and aggressive. You can also overdose on amphetamines. Overdoses can cause high fever, delusions, hallucinations, seizures, coma, stroke, heart failure and death. Combining amphetamines with alcohol or other drugs is especially dangerous.

That combo does NOT spell F-U-N.

Okay, well I have to say this as well. I take one phentermine tablet in the morning at 5:45 am. So I feel relatively okay by the time I go out at 6:30 or 7:00 pm that its mostly out of my system. I have never even really felt the side effects from taking it but of course I have never drank any beer at all during the day so maybe that is why. If you know you are going to drink, why not just dont take a pill that day? then you dont have to worry.

My ten cents worth! I took phen for virtually three months and didn't drink alcohol at all, mainly because it said to avoid alcohol on the instructions in the packet. Then I read in here that some people did have a drink whilst on phen. I had a couple of glasses of wine towards the end and it didn't seem to do any harm.

However, alcohol is an aperitif meaning that it stimulates the appetite, that is why traditionally it is drunk before and during a meal, so it seemed pretty daft to me drinking it while taking phen! I always tend to eat more if I drink alcohol so it defeats the object.

Like anything... being moderate would probably be okay, but like Susan says, they are all drugs at the end of the day and a healthy respect for this is really important too. If you keep all this in mind, you won't go far wrong!
