I am not really sure what you mean by "have it show that you have lost weight" but i can tell you that excercising on any program helps to speed up the process. Any type of activity outside of your daily normal activity will speed up your metabolism!
Hope this helps!

BTW- I find that lifting weights helps me lose weight alot quicker than killing myself on the treadmill!!

How does muscle burns fat while you sleep?

How does lifting weights help you lose weight alot quicker than other exercises?

In short, lifting weight builds muscle mass. Just to exist, muscle mass requires more energy to exist, using more calories to live. If you put a 20 pound blob of muscle next to a 20 pound blob of fat, and put the both on a diet and neither did any exercise, the blob of muscle would still lose faster because it was muscle.

One of the reasons women hate to diet with their men-folk.

You do not have to exercise to show weight loss. You don't have to take anything to show weight loss. You don't have to eat proteins or eat balanced meals...BUT...
unless your whole life changes and you change EVERYTHING about your past patterns of thinking about, purchasing, preparing, serving size, mealtimes, snacking, mindless eating, water drinking, etc, you'll find yourself doing what we all have done, over and over and over and over and over and over... year after year after year after year after year...

LET'S ALL GET IT DONE THIS ONE LAST TIME THE RIGHT WAY!

Hi, back years and eons ago when I did WW, they said you can use cans (like soup or veggies) and those are about one pound. Just don't drop them on your little toes! Also, just standing on one foot and trying to balance (for some) helps to tone muscles you don't normally work on too much. If you buy a band (really cheap at Walmart) you can use your own body as the weight and help tone that way too. They come in three versions so that you can start with one and then build up to the others as needed. I've never done the bands, but my daughter did.

You do not have to exercise or do weights. If you do not then if you were really overweight and your skin stretched, it will just "hang" there and be flabby. If you lose and exercise and do weights, it will help your skin to firm up slowly. DRINK WATER though. You need lots of water when you exercise.

Don't know the answer to how much more you burn in calories.

You can actually seem to slow your weight loss down by gaining muscle and losing fat because muscles weigh more than fat does. But on the other side, it takes more calories for your muscles to keep going....so you burn more calories every day with muscle too, plus you just look better in the long run.
