Hi Phentermine users,

I am a new member. Today is my 3rd day on phentermine. I was prescribed 37.5mg but for the first 2 days i took half of the dose only. Today, i took half in the morning before breakfast and half at 1pm. I was also prescribed klor-con 10meq and bumex 10mg by the same doctor to take together with my phentermine. I haven't taken it so far.I don't feel any adverse reactions or severe side effects except for hot flushes and feeling lightheaded on my first day. Please help me MY questions are:::

Should i take the two other medications? I don't have any health problems. What do u think is the rationale behind it?

Today i also feel hunger numerous times compared to the first 2 days on Phentermine at half the dose i was prescribed. Why is this so considering i have the complete dose today?

I am driving, should i wait like a week or 2 before taking the whole dose in the morning? Reason am skeptical taking the whole dose is am scared i will not be alert enough to drive since i am new to this medicine and not used to taking any medications in my life.

You're taking a prescription for potassium chloride? You know that that's what salt-substitutes you can buy at any grocery store are, right?

What's the diuretic for? You should be drinking enough water to make you pee a lot, anyway lol. Didn't your doctor tell you why he gave you those drugs? I find that strange. Why didn't you ask?

Phentermine is a stimulant... so it will make you more alert, but you shouldn't drive until you're well aware of how Phentermine or ANY medication (Rx or OTC) will affect you. If it makes you very nervous/jumpy, you shouldn't drive for example. I don't think it'll give you problems. First generation antihistamines, narcotics, and tranquilizers (among others) will make you sleepy, but not stimulants. Phentermine doesn't need to build up in your body to work (like.. say most antidepressants) you take it, so no need to wait two weeks to find out if you're good to drive...

If u read it right i am not yet taking the 2 other meds precribed to me. My doctor told me that bumex will help excess salts and water go out of my system in the form of urine and potassium is lost in the process. However, when i researched i found out that potassium could give u increased heart rate thus my concern on taking it. I've been drinking water a lot and peeing like a horse too so i dont find any reason to take the diuretic either. But i am hoping anyone here can give me some inputs based on their experience if Phentermine with Klor-con and bumex thus help with the weight loss faster than just taking phentermine alone.
