I have had uncontrollable diarrhea at times since yesterday evening, just started phentermine 37.5 mg Tuesday. Is this a common side effect or do I have a bug? I have read the insert, the sticky about side effects, etc., but I wanted some real world experiences. Thanks!

You could have a bug. Were you feeling weird before you started this pill ?
I'm not taking it, but I've read yes, it can do that to you at first, because the most common side effect will be the opposite (Constipation).

Only one for sure way to find out stop taking it for a few days.

Thanks for the welcome! I see that most often this causes constipation and that makes more sense. Given that I also take an antidepressant that can also cause constipation, I don't know what is going on with me! I have been running a low grade fever and sweating even more excessively than I usually do, so I don't know if it is a bug or this darn med, since it all started after I started the med. I do work in the schools and the kids just came back this week, so who knows, maybe I caught something from one of them!

Anyone else ever suffer diarrhea like this, tho?

I hope you are feeling better! Though it sounds like a bug, it truly could be phentermine.

Usually, symptoms of an overdose include restlessness, tremor, rapid breathing, confusion, hallucinations, panic, aggressiveness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, an irregular heartbeat, and seizures.

Don't panic, though. Call your doctor or pharmacist and try halving your dose, with their knowledge and instructions~

Your welcome. Even though Phentermine can cause loose stool at first and excess sweating it does not cause a low grade fever as a side effect as far as I know. The fever would point to a bug, you may have gotten. I'd probably stop the Med's and wait till, I felt better,to restart them again.jmo.

It could also be a little of both only one way to find out stop taking the med's and see if your symptoms go away within three days or not.jmo

What joy back to school brought me. My 5 year old just started kindergarden and is now picking up all kinda virus's and god knows what and giving them to his sister's.
