Hiya, I've just started on 15mg duramine here in Aus, I have been on it before about 3 years ago and successfully lost 12kg in 3 months. But had another baby and gained it all and a wee bit more back. Just finished BF two year old and got subscription to start again to start losing some of the 33kg or so I want to lose.

But, after 2 days on it, I'm still pretty hungry- physically hungry- I feel like my mental hunger has eased..if that makes sense.. so I'm doing ok with diet. Eating healthily and exercising on stationary bike 10-15 km a day.

I don't have any side effects other than some rather horrendous flatulence .

My question is why am I still so hungry? I'm sure I remember last time not being very hungry at all. I've been racking my brain to remember if I was 15mg or 30mg. Could the 15mg be not strong enough?

I've been tracking my calories on fitday and am on about 1900 a day and have lost a kg already.

Any ideas? Ta

Maybe they are not strong enough...maybe your doctor can check your records and let you know so you can confirm. Are you eating habits the same as the 1st time? Are you drinking plenty of water? Well I hope it gets better...good luck & take care!

Hi and welcome! 9reasons, one of our senior members, is from your part of the world and better aquainted with the formula, but it seems like she said she did well on 15.

It is different each time we take it. Can't be compared to the last time. There are a couple things to try. I don't know if you have it there, but here, over the counter, 100-300 mg of 5-HTP per day supplements well; also adding a teaspoon of citrus juice to a quart of water helps.

Eat 5-6x a day and never skip breakfast. Do you do any of those already?

5-HTP..? Nope not heard of that one. I'll look it up. Yes I'm eating three smaller meals with snacks in between including a good breaky. I should try the lemon juice in water first thing too, i have a bunch in the fridge.

I'm with a different doc now, he wasn't as happy to put me on them as the original doc was- asked me to go on them, I was the skeptical one and he said it was the best thing for me at the time. I had just had a miscarriage at 13 weeks and needed a boost to get some weight off and distract me from what had happened.

Now it's new town, new doc and I feel like it's the only option to get it started at the moment.

Thanks for the info...what do you do though when you feel 15mg is not strong enough yet you have a months supply you paid $108 for and 5 weeks till you see the doc again? Guess I'll just keep trying.

Maybe give him a call in the morning and let him know your predicament and ask his opinion of your taking 30 in the morning. Is that the normal dose? I hope this works out for you!

I know sometimes the perils of the overweight can be worse than the perils of the pills! One day we'll be rid of BOTH!

I wondered about taking two. Trouble is as much as i want to them to work- suppressing the appetite, I'm afraid also of getting any side effects, which I dont get now...I'm getting just enough effect to aid my efforts now and I wonder if I can do it without it being stronger. I think I"m just going to keep going like this for now.

Susan looks like you're already at your goal weight!! How long have you been there? I feel like I'll never be at mine....

You sound like you are taking a wise approach to this, Gal! CONGRATS on that!

It took me MONTHS and MONTHS! I plugged along and after I started weighing, well into my dieting,(who even KNOWS what I weighed at the beginning?I would not even let the doctor weigh me. When they said they 'had' to, I answered,"No, they did not.")I lost 1/2 pound per week.

The last few weeks I have gained. I may have another few to lose AGAIN. I am so ashamed.
