I am brand new to this forum. I am a bit confused mainly because there are so many Phentermines. I get that: you must have a doc prescribe this drug, what I don't get is that are most of these folks taking the prescription form of phentermine, or the non, as in phentermin or phentermin-d?

Also, do you just go to your doc, say, I would like you to prescribe phentermine? And voila..Someone said docs won't prescribe bc of the malpractice piece. So, where can I find a doc in the Denver area? Any tips? Also, it sounds like it is about 45 bucks, a savings compared to Meridia's 120/bottle (one month supply).

I just got off of Meridia, loved it. Too expensive and could not afford it. I am now on Alli...don't like it so much and want to get on appetite suppressant bc I am ALWAYS hungry, but do eat very healthy and am quite knowledgeable about nutrition, exercise, etc. Any tips, I am all EARS.
Elise

Good Morning! Well I am currently taking phen 37.5 and I go to a weight loss center for them. But not every doctor will prescribe them to you just because...they look to see if you are over weight and check your bmi also and see how your blood pressue is also. Here is a link check it out and see if you can find somewhere in your area: USA Weight Loss Clinic & Bariatric Doctor Directory - OmniMedicalSearch.com
just click on the usa and the website should pop up. Have a great day!!

Spice, thanks for the link, I will check it out. I was tempted to try to the phentermin-d since a script is not needed, but was not sure if people are getting good results. Seems like most are using the perscription formula.

Spice-I did call a doc in my area, but I was kind of turned off by the phone call. However, one person did suggest I ask my regular doc to prescribe it. So, I might do that, but have a feeling they will say no. I have about 20 pounds to go, from my higher weight, so I am afraid they will say, oh, big deal 10 pounds. Really, it would be a total of 30 pounds, since I had to stop taking Meridia. Do you know if phentermin-d has good results?

I also heard Gynecologist have been known to give out prescriptions.lol Go figure ...... Other member's have mentioned that's where they received their's from.

Another member asked their pharmacist if he could give them a name of a Dr. that he knew prescribes phentermine for.

The cheapest route, I would think is a regular medical Dr. Weightloss clinics can be a little pricey. Just get the good ole yellow pages out and look up medical Dr.'s in your area and start calling.

Seriously, I don't like confrontation but, it would be different for me asking a question on the phone.kwim?

Example :
Do you offer a weightloss program ? What does it entail ? How much for the first visit ? How much for the monthly Visits ? or weekly or bi-weekly
Most places would be monthly visits.

Sorry if I put to much detail into my answer. I read somewhere maybe on here that's how another member got their Dr.
Let's us know, how it goes for you !!!

I'd want to get all my Ducks in a row before, I wasted my money and their time.kwim?

You can even try calling your own Dr. anonymously and ask these question's. I know there are some Dr.'s that will prescribe phen to ppl 20 lbs or less to lose, because I've seen other ppl post that had that much to lose but they can only get it for a month or two usually.

It just depends on what the Dr.'s view's are liberal or not and if he believe's in this medication or not.

Good luck and keep in touch. ttyl c.c.
