Hi, I read on this site that Phentermine is a narcotic. However, I do not believe it is a narcotic, especially considering the definition.

Well it is a controlled substance and has the potential to cause physical and psychological dependence,because of this it is recommended short term usage to up to 12 weeks only. I read phentermine is a class 4 Narcotic. It is illegal to get this drug without a prescription from a Dr. This drug came out along time ago. It's structurally similar to amphetamines but not an amphetamine. because it is similar to amphetamines, it is classified as a controlled substance in many countries.
