so i was on phentermine for a couple of months and it worked awesome. i had trouble sleeping, but the thirty pounds i lost was well worth it. at the same time i was on phentermine, i was also prescribed ativan for anti anxiety. now, i am losing my hair and it seems to be falling out a lot. i know that going off of the medications cold turkey doesn't stop the side effects because your body has gone through the shock, but does anyone have similar effects with just phentermin?? i have done a lot of research and while phentermine has had no clinically proven hair loss effect, ativan has. any suggestions? i have totally stopped taking ativan due to reading about clinically proven hair loss. as far as tolerance, i reached a point whereas phentermine didn't seem to work. i was so sleepy in the afternoon and beginning to eat like i used to. does anyone know how long the tolerance lasts and when it is ok to take again? i would really like to take off the pounds i gained during the holiday season....so any advice is great. my prescription is still good with two refills.

Hello. I have been on tarzine, 37.5 (which I believe is a generic phen, which I get directly from a MD) once a day since Nov 2008. I have lost about 30 lbs.
I wanted to know what the long term, as in years... side effects are on this drug? Has anyone been on this for 1 year?5 years? etc?
Are there other drugs to switch to if your tolerance builds up?
I get tired in the afternoon. The "buzz" is gone when I take the pills and this is fine. I am getting a lot of headaches and can't decide if they are sinus headaches or related to this medication. I can get irritable and am VERY easily distracted.
I think my personality has changed. No question. I am worried about the lasting effects of this medication. I am taking "speed" and worry if I stop I'll gain all the weight back.
I have not returned to my old eating habits. I eat very clean.
Any comments are appreciated.
