Hello,

I took this med (phentermine) a few years ago with weight loss success, but noticed that my muscles were having problems. Tears in both rotator cuffs and leg pain that kept me awake at night and a need for constant movement with my legs during the day.

Just started taking the meds again in the last three weeks and have noticed the same leg muscle pain has returned. I believe there is a connection.

Anyone else experience these kinds of symptoms?

Oh, Man! What does the doctor say? Have you asked a pharmacist or called the manufacturer too see if there has ever been a connection documented?

Please keep us advised on this one. Meanwhile, you are discontinuing; right?

Yes, I am discontinuing. And for the record, the last three weeks of being on the meds this time, I have not lost any weight, so I think that not only is the phentermine causing strange side effects with my muscles, but it's like my body has built up a intolerance to it's effectiveness.

Maybe it's better this way, just in case there is a connection between the meds and this muscle issue.

I'll keep you posted.

It could be that there is some other muscle issue that maybe the phentermine aggrivates? Not sure, but I guess that if a person may have some underlying muscle, or even nerve condition, I would NOT recommend taking this med. Or ask your doctor about it first.

I did go for a nerve test with a neurologist and that test proved to be abnormal. Meaning something is not right somewhere. We are still investigating. An MRI has ruled out many possible causes.

Thanks for the well wishes. Well I did have success on the first round in 2004. Lost 30 pounds at that time and I felt better than I have ever felt. I'm remaining positive that all will work out well with my situation.
