has any one her been taking this ofr over 10 years? i have been taking it since i was 23 and now am 36. i have tried to stop taking it but everything goes bad from blood pressure spiking to swelling in legs and veins leaking blood and multiple spider veins that start showing up. but if i start taking it again the symptoms go away. I dont want to take this any more and i am scared that i will have to take it forever to keep myself from having a heart attack.
any one else had this happen or know if this is a common symptom for stopping after long term use?
what can i do?
also do you know if this causes adrenal insufficiency? or if it does in fact damage the neurotransmitters in your brain permanetely?
please help me if you have this info i am really scared about what is going on with this medication and what i have done to myself. i have always used it with a script and been told by dr.s that it is fine but then why the symptoms if i am not taking it????

Marni, you are wise to ask and I know you must feel desperate. When our bodies get used to something we are addicted to, it rebels if it doesn't get what it wants. It makes us miserable until we get it.

One of the biggest reasons people can't stop smoking or drinking or amphetamine use is because it is SO uncomfortable to quit.

Remember how you felt at 18 years old? Before phentermine? Normal body responses gave you a pleasant feeling. You CAN do this but you may need help your doctor has not given you yet. Ask for recovery assistance and do what it takes.

You might check your state, too, for programs that are free:Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) Center

Please let me know by PM, if you'd rather. We care.

Good luck to you. As a former smoker, I know how difficult it is to conquer an addiction. You have my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how you are doing.
