Well here goes the broken record. Have unsuccesfull tried to get my Doc to help me with this battle. He refuses to engage in the prescription medication discussion it's as simple as the south beach diet he says. Does anyone know of a doc in the area of Springfield Il who would prescribe Phetermine. Any help would be appreciated.

Drs. who haven't experience uncontrollable gain can usually not appreciate it. My doctor, when told I was depressed (long ago)said to shake it off!

just to share with you. My aunt is a doctor up in new york and she refuses to prescribe me with med to loose weigth, well so far i havent told her that i am on phen rigth now and i wont because for sure she is gonna tell me about the desavantages of it, and i just want to be positive in this battle. by the way i haven heard anything bad about this med so why is so hard to get it from some doctors? i hope you find someone to help you in this journey of loosing weigth

Just saw your post. I might be able to help you if you have not found a doctor in Springfield yet. My doctor is in Moweaqua and I would be happy to give you his name and number if you would like. He has prescribed to me and a friend of mine, so I am pretty sure he would prescribe for you. Just pm me if you would like the info. I know that it isn't that close to Springfield, but the best I can do. By the way, if you are not that familiar with the town, it is near Decatur/Taylorville/Pana area.

Your best bet is going to be to find a Bariatric doctor in your hometown. They are the most comfortable prescribing Phen because they are most familiar with it.

I just thought about this, but you ought to check with St Johns or Memorial to see if they have a weight loss support group of some sort, they are usually sponsored by the hospital, and sometimes they know of drs who are willing to prescribe rx for dieting. It might be something to check into before coming all the way to Moweaqua from Springfield. I'm sure that either hospital would have that type of information...or at least it doesn't hurt to ask first.
