Thanks all. The support on this site is so encouraging and welcoming! I stumbled upon this site by complete surprise. I had some questions concerning Phentermine (like how does one feel when one cease taking the pill) and poof this site came up on my screen with wise answers. I am so glad to have found all of you.

I have one more concern maybe someone can explain. It has been day 4 since my last pill and I have found my ankles are swollen and aches after standing for 8 hours or more. I associate it with water retention. Could this be the cause? And, why do you think this is happening? This didn't happen before or during Phentermine.

Hmm. That is definately different. It could be water retention, I know that phen will help with getting rid of excess water. Just to be on the safe side, I would call your dr to tell him that it has happened, and ask his advice. I know we all retain water in different places, but I don't know if that place can change after taking a medication like that.

I certainly would call and ask. And let us know how you are doing, and what the dr says, if you call.

Y'all are so dog-gone intersting that I spend my time reading what each said, and so pleased I am online as a member here, too.

Pick up a gallon of milk. That is how much the average retention overnight is, including liquids and bulk foods, not yet eliminated.

I'm a believer in same scale, same time per week, same time of day, same circumstances all around and weigh once a week. I used to do that Thursdays, 5 am, nude, barefoot, after morning emimination.

You will notice a bigger difference that way. YOU CAN only need to do this ONCE if it's done the right way. While you have the support and the medicine to help, lay out your detailed plan and execute. March! March!

I see the doc tomorrow morning. I will tell him about my ankles swelling/aching. I will let you know what I find out.

Susan, I do exactly what you have said about when to weigh. However, I do it once every morning and once every evening. I am "scale neurotic". Another words, I am over-anxious, over-sensitive, and over-obsessive about weight gain. Always have been and always will be.

As long as you don't let the scale discourage your weight loss, I think that it is okay to weigh daily. I am kind of that way, too, I weigh every morning at the same time, on the same scale. I use this to boost my dedication to losing weight, but you can't let it rule your diet when you don't see the results you hope for, too.

Let us know what the dr says! I will be interested to hear!

I just got Phentermine 37.5 and am nervous about taking them. I have never taking prescription weightloss drugs before. My blood pressure shot up the day before my doctor gave me the prescription. I have never had high bp and was amazed when it was high. Any suggestions?

Blood pressure will raise with stress..so if you are nervous about taking the medication, that will probably make it a little higher. If you don't own a bp monitor, they make several inexpensive ones that you can buy to keep an eye on it if you are worried about how the meds may affect you.

Also, weight can play a major role in blood pressure. By losing some weight, I have brought my blood pressure down significantly. I don't monitor mine daily, but I do keep an eye on it because I know I have a tendency toward running a little high.

If you still feel uncomfortable, ask your doctor if they feel this medicine will affect it in a bad way. Drs will not prescribe it if they feel you may be at risk.

To be on the safe side, you might try just taking 1/2 of the pill in the mornings. If things go well, and that helps you, stay at just 1/2....if you want to try taking 1/2 in the morning and 1/2 at noontime, that may be a good solution, too. But I would definately just try taking 1/2 to start with, until you feel comfortable that it won't affect your blood pressure in a bad way.

Good luck! And be sure to let us know how you are doing!
