Hi. I have been taking prescription Phentermine 30mg. for one month. I am worried about the possible side-effects from sudden withdrawal. I can not get in to see my Dr. for a week after I run out of pills (only two days left). Please let me know what to expect after I run out. No time for depression or sleeping since I live a very busy lifestyle. Please help.

Sincerely,
Oanh

If you have been taking them for only one month, you should not experience any type of withdrawl at all when you stop. There are a lot of people who take it for much longer periods of time and are perfectly safe. I personally take it for 42 days then I am off it for 30 days. There is not an exact science for how the drs determine how long we should be on, it is basically just their own personal preferences and ideas.

Please don't be worried...I think you will be just fine.

Good luck!

Thank you for your reply Pigpen065. Today is my first day without pills and I am feeling fine. Just a litttle tired, but that is to be expected. When I get my prescription filled on Saturday, I will do what you have described. On for 30 days and off for 30 days. My concern is becoming addicted.

By the way, I have read alot of your posts. You give really good advice. I appreciate all the time you devote to this site to help people like me. Thank you.

Thank you very much for those sweet comments!

I am glad that you are feeling better about taking the phen, or not taking it! It is good that you are being cautious, any time we put medications in our bodies, it pays to be that way!

I love this site, so being on here and doing what I am doing is a pure joy. I have been overweight almost my whole life, and finally finding something that is helping me change that makes me want to shout it from the rooftops. And if I can help someone else who feels the way I did, then that is even better. I like letting people know there is hope for us!!

Have a great day! And be sure to let us know how you are doing!!

Hi Pigpen065 and all my fellow posters,
Today is day two without and I am feeling a little discouraged. I ate without a bit of guilt today. Well, let me re-phrase that, while I ate I felt guiltless, but after I ate I felt tremendous guilt! I weighed myself before I went to work (117 lbs.) and after (122 lbs.) How in the world did I gain 5 lbs in one day? I know how--I ate to make up for the month I didn't eat much. I can't wait till Saturday. That's the day I go to the doc to get more pills. However, I opted to walk home from work; instead of asking for a ride. The 25 min. it took to walk home made me feel like I did something towards weightloss. I just wish I had more will-power to say no to food. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I hope all are doing fine with your weightloss goals.

Respectfully,
Oanh

I just want to add, I know how you feel. I have been overweight my whole life too. Once someone at work asked me to go to dinner. She said she had not been out for awhile and just needed to get out. I said, "I wish I could go, but I am on a diet." She said, "When aren't you on a diet?" I replied, "Never, I am always on a diet." Well, after that she quite asking me.

Needless to say, I feel life can really be boring sometimes.

Hi, Pack for kids. We all have felt how you feel. As I always say, its tough getting old, because that metabolism comes to a screeching halt. Also us women have the hormone issues that make us put on weight. This is something we all can overcome. I personally don't care if I can win a bikini contest, that is unattainable at my age. I just want to feel good about myself, physically and mentally. All of us on this forum have made the choice to live better or we would not be here. We have faith in you!
