I hope this can be opened. Please let me know if this is what you needed. Ian penned the original back in 2005.

i started taking phen about 6 years ago and it was a nice experience without any bad side effects. After all these years I decided to go back on the medication last year. I got my prescription filled at Walgreens and saw that the manufacturer was Caraco. they were ok but not like the ones from six years ago. my head hurt a lot but it was tolerable. I refilled my prescription this past week and noticed more side effects that usual. I have been very depressed, my stomach is on fire (beyond nausea) my head is killing me, I am anxious and have never felt this while taking phen before. This is way more intense. I looked on my prescription bottle and noticed it was from the manufacturer Lannette??(sp) I got them from Walgreen. Is it right for them to switch manufacturers on customers without informing them? Is there any recourse? I just bought the 90 day supply and can't even take them? I am calling the pharmacy tomorrow but don't really know what they can do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

An honest conversation with your pharmacist should correct the problem...it is not unusual for a person to have a different reaction to the same medications from different manufacturers...according to my pharmacist, it happens far more than people realize.

They do not have to inform people of a change of brands, but it is good that you know what brand worked for you before and can request that brand. Sometimes those companies do not make that prescription anymore, or the company may even be out of business. I take the 30 mg from Lannett and have wonderful results, it is the brand that I request from my pharmacy, but everyone is different.

Call the pharmacist and explain what is going on....they may be able to help more than you think.
