Does anyone know if you can take Ritalin while on Phentramin? My mother takes Ritalin to help her stay awake while she travels and just started taking her Phentramin and quit the Ritalin and now shes exhausted.

Ian-Is there anyway to ask Lazarus Labs if there is a way you can take both?

Wow; I'd be afraid to guess at that one. Just to be certain, have your mom look at every ingredient in her medicine and in her Ritalin, including the inactive ingredients. Call your pharmacist or any local pharmacist (after rush hours)and ask for any contraindications. It's always good to affirm with the doctor, too.
Does she take the medicine made specifically for people with apnea which is somewhat like Ritalin or the brand?

Dear Kiki, I have forwarded your question to Lazarus Labs but you can get a faster answer tomorrow morning if you call their direct line at 770-606-1002.

Thanks for your quick responses. Yes, she does take Ritalin for Sleep Apnea!! I will let her know to call her physician. I also tried to call Lazarus Labs, but for some reason I wait and wait and no one ever answers!!

There are several sites that you can check for medications that do not mix.... google drug interactions. I checked it at drug digest and it says no known interactions... but just call a local pharmacy they should be able to tell you.

KiKi are you still here? what did you come up with? this could be helpful to others that are taking medications for sleeping. and let us know if you got ahold of them, or if you found your answers another way.
thanks Cassandra

I talked to Lazarus Labs and they recommend that you do not take ritalin with Phentramin. But talk to your doctor about it anyway.

Ian-Did they say why? Harmful side effects or does it slow your weight loss?
