That's sometimes the hardest part to deal with. The people who are supposed to love you most are often the ones who feel "close" enough to you to say these hurtful things. It may be unintentional, or it may not be...but either way hurts just as much.
I know how you feel. You may not want to say anything and cause a rift in your relatioship with her-but if you don't, she will probably do something similar again. So in these situations, we have to pick the lesser of two evils-do we say something at the risk of hurting or offending this person, or do we continue to be hurt ourselves? In the end, it all boils down to the fact that every adult should KNOW that these are hurtful words without us having to point out that fact-so you have every right to stand up for yourself. And you also have every REASON, too-you should be proud of your accomplishments, and do not let ANYONE take that pride away from you with a few thoughtless words!

Ya know-it's always the people who lack confidence and self esteem that feel the need to break others down-they NEED to pick on someone so they don't feel so crappy about their own faults.

I hope the phentramin works for you. Alot of people have had success with it-so just hang in there and keep us posted on how it goes!

Laura

I went ahead and ordered the phentramin. Hope it works. I also hope it doesn't give me that icky wired feeling which is the feeling I got when I tried ephedra (sp?) a few years ago.

I just want to get this stupid weight off. Even if I've been pretty good in what I've had to eat that day, I'll dream about totally blowing my diet that night (when I HAVEN'T). It's really disturbing.

jazzy..."You should have told her she was starting to look a little old....."

now THAT was FUNNY! LOL!

Everyone, I just can't "pump up" how the phentramin is doing for me, if it's not doing anything I have to be honest.

I've been on the other side for a long time, meaning I've been reading what everyone was saying about phentermine and anything else that came along.

First and foremost, what is it that we're ALWAYS looking for? HONEST reviews from people who are actually using the stuff, right? We want to hear what other people have to say, good, bad or ugly. "Just the facts, ma'am" right? ;o)

I know I've always wanted an honest review from each person, taking into consideration that everything doesn't work for every person in the same way.

So please don't anyone anyone take it wrong or get their knickers in a twist if I'm sharing my own personal experience w/phentramin.

It's working great for some, not so great for others. I happen to be one of "the others".

Unfortunately. Because I really really really NEEDED it to help me right now.

Unless there's something else out there, legally obtained OTC, I'm going to have to see if I can get into a doc's office around here for some help from the phentermine until I reach my goal.

Hang in there, everyone.

Nomo... I'm so sorry it's not helping you. I guess that's just how it is sometimes.. some meds work great for one person but do nothing for other people.. it's not just weight loss meds though. Don't give up... you can do it!!!!

Thanks you guys & gals...sorry for thread-jacking...did I? LOL

At any rate, I wish I knew WHY something OTC like phentramin works so well for some folks, and not at all for folks like me. I hate the caffeine jitters, to me that's not energizing at ALL, just makes me feel nauseous. LOL I guess THAT'LL keep me from feeling like eating...? *sigh* wish there was a phentermine fairy somewhere. I made an appt today w/local doc...visit will run about $100 for the first one, and probably $50/month after that. plus the gas. plus the headache of finding someone to watch the kids. plus I just don't feel like going anywhere anymore. sheeeeesh.

OK, again, hang in there everyone.

I know how you feel nomo. I wish there was something otc, too. It would be alot easier. Unfortunately, atleast for me-it's all crap. To be honest, you may as well shell out the money for the phen and lose the weight, rather than contiue to waste WAY more than that (like I have, lol) over time trying all that otc stuff and still not have anything to show for it.
I live in the middle of the desert, and the only doc here doesn't believe in diet pills. I'm in the process of locating a doc in Phoenix or Tucson-which means ATLEAST a 7 hour round trip drive....so I also have to find one that doesn't require too frequent visits to keep me on the meds. I can't afford to just pick a doctor and try-but I've used phen before and know it works well for me.
I'm a stay at home mom, so I know the sitch about getting a sitter, too.
Most of the time I feel lucky to be able to stay home with my kids. Not everybody has that option. But it does have it's own set of reasons that make it hard to lose weight. Including the close proximity to the comfort of the fridge all day, and how easy it is to get too comfortable-not want to go through the trouble of leaving the house, and feeling very blah about dealing with the world outside. It's hard for any woman to keep a healthy self esteem-but when you are constantly covered in someone else's bodily fluids or the mac and cheese someone smushed into your hair, and you can't get rid of the Barney-esque theme songs stuck in your head-it's nearly impossible WHen you are programmed to be the caretaker 24/7-it's also hard to remember how important it is to take time to give your self priority as well, and do things just for YOU.
But it IS all worth it in the end. I have pcos, and I know that I'm lucky to maintain my weight. I'm not going to lose a single pound without medical help. I don't care what I have to do, if it makes me healthier and happier, then it's well worth the journey, the inconvenience, and the money.
It's not that phen is the ultimate answer-there ARE people out there who say it didn't work for them-although it's alot less than the people who say that about any OTC stuff. Have you ever taken it before?

hey rebel, boy have I *ever* taken it before LOL!

Three times, and each time I had to quit because of a pregnancy...hmmmm go figure hehehe....

But after my last (5 yrs ago) I stayed on for about 10-12 months, lost about 100 lbs, kept it off for several years, and since Thanksgiving I've started gaining badly again, up 20 lbs now and no end in sight

I had a dr appt yesterday morning but had to cancel because we just don't have the money for the visit...it kind of sucks LOL!

I wish I could say otherwise, but no OTC yet has even remotely helped me, and I won't buy any more, it's all cr*p for me.

This phentramin has just made me feel shaky, with or without food, it doesn't really matter. Kind of sick to my stomach. Not energetic, in fact tired and weird after I finally get rid of the shaky jittery feeling. I never did like a caffeine buzz, though. Some folks do, but it doesn't do much for me. You know what I mean?

*sigh*
