Hello everyone,

Today I was prescribed phen, generic 37.5 Adipex, and given a diet plan and water pills. At the clinic I was told to take the pill at about 11am, an hour before lunch. The diet looks to be about 1200 calories a day and is very low carb. I currently work out 4-5 days a week. I do a variety of jogging, walking, eliptical, stepper, bike, weights, and pilates throughout the week and I try to burn at least 700 calories per workout. I am excited about starting the phen, since I have not lost any weight in 6 months despite exercise.

I was hoping that those of you that have had weight loss success with phen, exercise, and diet would give me some advise and feedback on what has worked for you.

Thanks,
Heather

Hi, Heather, and welcome to PhenForum!
Something you can add that will jumpstart your diet:

1. Drink water all day long.
2. Eat 5-6 sm all meals a day, including protein every time.
3. Eat breakfast daily.

Please let us know how you are doing by journaling your days...and your foods. Are you having to measure portions?

Thanks for the responses and support! I will be starting a weight loss journal soon. I wanted to wait until I hit the 20 lb mark. I am only a pound or two away from it, so it has been going well. This forum really does help.

Heather-Your story mirrors my story in terms of working out so much and not losing any weight. Its refreshing to hear I am not the only one. I too started phentermine...actually today.

Any tips or feedback people can give that have taken it would so helpful. I know to drink tons of water and monitor BP and pulse. Anything else? Did anyone have trouble sleeping..i think I am most worried about this since I get up at 5am!

thanks! Jen

Hi Jen,

Well the good news is I started phen almost 3 weeks ago and I have lost about 19 lbs. So it really does work, but you have to make the most of it. I eat 1200-1500 calories a day, I only eat bread, 1/2 bagel, in the morning, and I am not eating anything high in fat. It is not easy but sooo worth it. Also, working out is still very important. I workout at least 5 times a week. Sleep hasn't been bad for me, but it is sort of weird, I feel like I am in a less restful sleep but I am sleeping 8 hours though. Then again I am not the best sleeper to begin with. Good luck, let me know how it goes.

Heather
