I am new also and working with a doctor specializing in weight loss. He has me on 1 yellow capsule in a.m of Phentermine and 1/2 of a water pill lunch time and 1 37.5 mg pill of Phendimetrazine. He likes using both not to get addicted to one. Last pill taken by 3 pm. The first two weeks my blood pressure was too high for the pills I was on cell press and vitamin B12 shot. I started at the age of 49 and 5"6 and 239. Two weeks later I lost 7 lbs and was 232. Next visit last Thursday 10/22/09 I was given the Phen pills, the B12 shot told to drink as much water as possible everyday and to eat only what I could fit into one hand 6x a day of high protein no carbs, meats, veggies, nuts etc no fruit. Well it is now 10/29/09 and I lost 15 lbs in one week and I weigh 217 for a total 22 lb loss in 3 weeks. I feel great no problems and I truly believe having a Dr work with you is paramount to success and implementation of the diet. He explained to me I do NOT have to eat 1000 calories a day if I do not want to as long as I eat 6 times a day and high protein with lots of water for maximum weight loss of fat and inches. I have never been able to ose weight quickly before, this is the highest weight I have ever been, usually 180 for me is a 10/12. Has any else been prescribed the same program and had similar results to date? I am not eating ANY processed foods whatsover and I take in about 130 oz of water a day. Thanks everyone, Jane

Hi, Jane!
Folks can and do lose on under 1,000 calories. The problem comes when our bodies lower the rate of turnover (metabolic rate) and sustain on say, 600 calories. It's like reseting an internal clock.

Once that person begins eating a still-too-small 1,000 calories, the body will gain weight on 1,100. It's torture! And not healthy. We have ALL lived that story!

I would do my own research, if I were you. Medscape: Free CME, Medical News, Full-text Journal Articles & More www.docguide.com or National Institutes of Health (NIH) - Home Page

Thanks for your information, I am following though what my physician has prescribed and it is working for me. I am really interested in finding others with the same program and their weight loss success. At some point the loss will drop off to a couple of pounds a week, just not sure when.

I have to completely agree with Susan on this. There's no doubt you can loose quite a bit of weight on 1,000 calories or less but as Susan stated the problem starts when you go back to eating a "normal" amount of food you're going to regain because your body has became accustomed to such a low caloric intake. So I think it's healthier to keep the weight off long term to try to aim for 1200 - 1500 calories a day so that your body doesn't readjust itself to such a small amount of calories per day.

Hello christinabadeana,
When i was new,i too was not able to see the effects of taking phentermine. Sometimes it happen that your body take time to get adapted to new intake thing.Keep little patience, it will surely show the results. i got the results too latter, i took pills from Phenblog. You can try to get from there and do full course as prescribed.Keep going with the pill, Drink gud amount of water.
