Thanks for the info nicgirl. I was contemplating on calling one of them but didn't know for sure if they would be wiling to prescribe medication or would lean more towards a surgical procedure. I'm glad to know they give you other options! btw...congrats on your weight loss! Great work!

Hi, ajo930. I agree with nicgirl. The doctor I am going to is a bariatric surgeon, and weight loss is his specialty. In fact, he will not perform weight loss surgery on anyone if they have not done his weight loss plan for six months first. That is because he is serious about lifestyle cange. Do check out bariatric doctors in your area.

Lots of doctors will prescribe Bontril, which works the same way. Give it a go!

I'm back....

I did order the Phentramine-D and unfortunately, I don't like it. It suppressed my appetite but made me really anxious and I couldn't sleep either! I did make an appt. with a new Dr for the end of the month to talk about getting back on the Phentermine but at my yearly gyn appt., I got to talking to my Dr. about it and she actually prescribed it for me! She said she works with alot of women who are taking it and she was more than happy to start me on a program. Who would've known? I'll report my results at the end of the week. Please keep your fingers crossed!

P.S. It's Phentermine 30mg, which I have never taken before. Previously I was taking Phentermine 37.5.

Glad that you have found a dr that is willing to work with you on this! I would have never guessed that the gyn would be the one, but hey, whatever it takes!

I take the 30 mg and I love it....and actually the dr prescribed me the 37.5 and I requested to go back on the 30 because it works better. There actually isn't that much difference in the medicine, but the 30 is a timed release capsule where the 37.5 is not, and that is why a lot of people have better luck with 1/2 in the am and 1/2 at lunch. I bet you will do great!

Be sure to keep us updated!
