I was on Phentermine for 3 months and had good luck with it. However, I've had to switch doctors and my new doctor will not prescribe it for me (she thinks it's too dangerous). So...I've been looking at alternatives and stumbled across this website. Honestly, truthfuly, does Phentramine-D really work? And more important, is it safe? Any input, positive or negative would be greatly appreciated! I desperately want to get off the weight I gained while pregnant...ugh.

Oh, you probably are not going to like my reply, but here goes....I personally took phen-d and did not have any luck with it at all. BUT, I have read a lot of threads where people are having great luck with it. I think that it just depends on the person. I feel that it is a very safe thing to try, but there are no guarantees on how it will work for you.

That is as honest as I can be....sorry if it isn't the answer you were looking for.

Good luck!!

Yes, I take the 30 mg phentermine. But I also have drastically changed my diet, trying to keep between 1200 and 1500 calories a day. I drink almost only water now, rarely do I drink soda or tea or anything else, trying to get at least 80 to 100 oz of water per day. And I also am exercising at least 3-5 days a week for a minimum of 20 to 30 minutes. Phentermine does a great job, but when used with diet and exercise, it can do an excellant job.

If you truly want to take phentermine again, rather than the alternatives, you might try checking at your local hospital in the weight management areas, or call your local weight watchers group to see if there are any drs that do prescribe it. Or you can check to see if there are any Bariatric Drs in your area that may help with it.

Hope you find something that will help you...just remember that buying actual phentermine online is illegal so any website that tells you that they have it are probably selling fake phen. Good luck! Let us know how you are doing!

Hi, aj0930. What reason did your doctor give for the pill being dangerous? I guess anything coud be if someone abused it. I take a half a pill daily and it works great. Maybe a smaller dose would ease your mind?

Hi Becca. She is concerned with it's affect on blood pressure and pulse. However, when I was taking phentermine, I went in regularly to have it checked and was always in normal range. I would love to take it again but she just won't prescribe it. I should probably try looking for a Dr. who will prescribe it but haven't had any luck finding any physicians in my area who specialize in weight loss. All I could find is bariatric surgeons and I'm not ready to go that route!

aj, even though they are listed as bariatric surgeons, they still specialize in weight loss, and would probably help you. You also might try calling your local chapter of Weight Watchers to see if they know any drs in your area that will prescribe it. Also, local hospitals usually have a diet and weight loss support group, that might be able to help.
