Your workout sounds really neat! Definately spicier than just doing cardio and then weights, or weight and then cardio. How long do your workouts normally take you?

Wow!! I should have been doing this all along. It's great to hear from
you both already.

My workouts normally take between 20 and 30 minutes. Workouts
should never really go over 45 minutes in a day. Mine are so intense
that I've been using up all the glycogen stores in my muscles before
30 minutes are up. So basically when that happens, my muscles don't
hurt, but I just can't make them do anything. Lol...

The key is to do intense circuit workouts without taking a break
in between each part. I'm getting great results and I'll definitely
be posting in my journal more often.

Thanks Jessie, I think that it's a better pic too. I really was starting
to dislike my old one.

Thank you both for responding! I'm glad you're here.

Ian, I don't know what the forum was like previously but we are a very chatty and supportive bunch at this time! I'm telling you a crazy supportive group. I like your circuit training idea. I did a little of that last night because I missed my weight training class and wanted to get some strength training in before, as Jill points out, my scheduled cardio workout. It's fun to mix it up. God love you on the pull ups. I can't imagine what kind of miracle we'd be talking about if in fact I could ever do even 1 of them! Ellen

Hey Ellen, thanks for posting here! Yeah I really like the group
you all have going here. I usually look at the posts, but I haven't
been part of it.

My workout was pretty fun. It's kindof funny to see how all these
macho guys around me in the gym are doing their beloved
bicep curls and other unnatural movements just to build muscle
mass so they think they'll "get chicks" or something.

I did the dumbell swings pretty fast. It's great cardio. You take
say a 35lb dumbell, put it on the floor between your legs, squat
down and hold it with both hands, then with your butt stuck out,
swing it up using your whole body to do the movement.

I saw a lot of them looking at me like "whoa what the heck is
that guy doing... should I be doing that?"

Within the next four weeks I'll reach the point where I kindof
freak everyone out in the weight training area by doing
lightning fast pull-ups (like 20+ in a row!) like my friend.

Right now though, I can't do many pull-ups. I can do maybe
3-4 of them. So, instead of pull-ups tonight I decided to use
the lat-pulldown machine @ 120 pounds and do it 12 times
in each round.

By the way, these workouts are so efficient that I only
got through two rounds before I couldn't do anymore.

I'll do a bit better each day though, especially in the
first four weeks of intense training. Afterward it starts
to taper off.
