NTL,

We're at almost exactly the same weight! I got on the scale this morning and it said 230.6. That's pretty ironic LOL!

What's your goal weight?

Yup, my goal is 160. I realize that 160 would still make me overweight according to the medical guidelines, but I feel that it is a realistic weight I could get to and stay at on my own. My doctor and I discussed it and he agrees that it would be a healthy weight for me.

:-D Sounds like you have a great/supportive doctor! :grin: And being realistic about your goals is great.I am very impatient and want to lose the weight like yesterday!But I know I will get there eventually,you are so calm and the opposite to me,I need to start looking at long term.I wish I had your calm. I push myself so hard at the gym,I am embarraced to have put all the weight back on after losing it all last year. :o ](*,)

160 sounds like a good weight goal, I was thinking about the same or 150 for myself. Eventually I would like to be around the 120s of 130s. But right now 150 will be good. Even though the charts say for my height I should be at 105 to 115. I can't imagine myself that small. Good job on the weight loss.

I have you fooled! LOL! I am not calm about it. I was so worried to see the doctor this month because I had only lost 6 pounds. I thought he would be upset at my loss. He wasn't, he was HAPPY! He said it was great. That I should not be losing any faster than that or I would be more likely to just gain it all back again. I told him that to me 6 pounds was NOT enough! I want to lose it much faster. He told me that it is going to be a slow process... blah blah.

It is not fair! How come I have read that some people have lost like 45 pounds in 3 months? I have lost only 17.5 pounds in 7 weeks. It does not seem fair! I WANT IT TO COME OFF FASTER!


I know that there is no quick fix and I try to stay positive. I know this is going to have to be a change of life for me. I know I have lost over 40 pounds since the beginning of the year...but it never seems to be enough! :(
