Ok, so first I guess I should answer those starting questions:

1) How much weight do I want to lose? At least 97.5 lbs. The healthy range for my height is 125-145. When I was "skinny" I weighed 135 so I'd like to get back to somewhere around that weight.

2) How much time do I hope to take? Well, I'm going to say ASAP, but I will put a year limit on it.

3)What methods will I use? Phen, a 1600-calorie diet, and exercising at least one time per week for 2 hours (I may only be able to exercise once a week due to my husband's schedule and the lack of a sitter).

4) Who can motivate me? My sister-in-law, Tiffany. She has lost close to 100 lbs in the past 2 years (she lost 75 lbs after my nephew was born and just had my niece in May and is almost back to where she was before her 2nd pregnancy). I am hoping that I can find the motivation on my own, but I know that there will be some rough spots and I hope that I can turn to everyone here for support.

5) Is my goal realistic? I think it is. Based on what I have lost this week, I would only have to lose 7 lbs a week to complete my goal in 3 months. If I am flexible up to a year, my goal can definitely be completed safely.

6) When do I want to start? Been there, done that, started this past Tuesday.

My starting weight was 237.5 on Monday. I am down to 233.2 today. Went to the gym on Wednesday and rode the stationary bike 6 miles, walked 2 1/2 miles on the treadmill, and did some light weight training for 20 minutes. I think I burned around 450 calories in 2 hours.

I'm off to the chiropractor's office (without which I wouldn't be on Phen in the first place).

Till tomorrow,
Lauren

You can add exercise in lots of places that you would never think of. Do leg lifts sitting on the couch watching TV. Dance with your daughter. Park farther away at the store, etc.

Little bits of exercise really add up to alot. You do not have to have lots of "scheduled" time. Just do what you can.

Good luck and GREAT start!

Needtolose,

Thanks for the tips, but I kind of like getting the 2 hours to myself LOL! My husband works 3rd shift and goes to school so a lot of the time it is just me at home with the baby. I go to the gym with my sister-in-law, so I get that much needed adult interaction. It's about the only thing keeping me from speaking in baby talk 24 hours a day LOL.

My mom is in town from NY for the weekend, and my grandma made baked mostaccioli with ricotta cheese and salad for dinner. I didn't eat too much, and it was just enough to be almost full. I had one piece of french toast and 2 scrambled eggs for breakfast. I didn't eat lunch because I thought that I was going to go well over my limit today. I just hope that I can stay on track for a while without having any more family functions that cause me to slip (I can't pass up my grandma's home cooking!)

Thanks Ace!

I was BAD BAD BAD today (the 31st that is LOL)! I had a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast, didn't eat lunch and ate at McDonald's for dinner....I didn't go over my 1600 calorie limit, but it WAS McDonald's! My mom is still in town and I thought she was going to be coming over today but she stayed out later than she planned (she's looking for a house so they can move back here from NY). We were going to have dinner at home if they came over, but then she called and told me to go over to my grandma's. So we had to think of something quick because we didn't have time to make anything.

GRRRR!!!! I need to avoid my family for a while....they're making me have to be bad LOL! Hopefully this week will be better and I'll be good all week.

On the plus side, I didn't gain any weight....hopefully I'll be lower than what I was this morning when I go to weigh in Monday morning!
