Well, yesterday the wind was so bad all day that I just stayed inside. I spent the day cleaning. When you look for it, it's amazing how much you can find to clean. I was bad though. For lunch I had a grilled cheese sandwich! Bad Girl~~ :smt079

Well, I went to Curves today. It's actually pretty cool. 3 times a week 30 minute workouts. They way it's set up, you get the equivalent of a 1 1/2 hour workout in 30 minutes. It's circuit training style. Everything is in a circle and alternates; aerobic-upper body-aerobic-lower body-aerobic etc. You spend 30 seconds at each station then switch to the next. All the equipment is hydraulic so there's no weight to adjust. The more you push or pull the more resistance there is. It's only 29 a month but I'm having a problem with the $149 start up fee. I've got 24 hours to decide so I'm still considering it.

It's been really cool here in cali. It's never this cold it's in the 80s usually we're in the high 90s low 100s. Weird. The enrollment fee is high. Mine was 179 when I joined my gym. Well if you don't sign up for curves now you know what the start up fee is so you can just save and join at another time and just keep walking your hill and horse pastuer until then. My grandma goes to curves, she has lost a lot of weight doing it. She really enjoys going there. I'm glad she goes so she can stay active and take care of herself especially since she had bypass heart surgery a couple of months ago. If you feel guilty about the grilled cheese, try wheat bread and fat free cheese and I can't believe it's not butter spray. I had a grilled cheese a couple of weeks ago, the bread was 80 calories 0.5g of fat for two slices, fat free cheese 30 calories 0g of fat, butter spray 0 calories 0g of fat. So total 110 calories 0.5g of fat. I hope that helps. keep up the good work. How are you doing with quitting smoking?

Thanks for the tip. I did use whoe wheat. I can't seem to manage the fat free cheeses but I do use mozzerella which has a little lower fat than cheddar. I did control my self and not butter the bread though. Anyway, talked to hubby about Curves. We are saving right now for a week trip to Louisiana in Oct. He's a tournament bass angler and the trip is for his National Championship.(So glad he qualified!) He said that after the trip, if I still want to join he will pay for it. Since my youngest isn't living with us anymore, I've decided to go back to work, but I'm waiting til after the trip so I won't have problems getting the time off.

Smoking update: I've been doing pretty good. I found 1/2 a pack in the truck when I was cleaning it out.(forgot about that emergency stash!) Anyway, I did smoke one, but after going for over 24 hours without, I wa amazed at how nasty it was. I think they are from our last fishing trip to the coast which was back in Feb. I know I should just throw them away, but instead I put them in the back of the hall closet behind some boxes. That way if I get to where I say I've got to have one, I will have to work for it. (took nearly 5 minutes to get behind all that stuff.) That will make me have to decide if I really want to go through all that. I know it sounds like an excuse, but if I throw them away, I'll just keep thinking about the fact that I did, and end up buying more!

Thanks for noticing. Now I'm excited about next week so I can change it again. Actually the smoking thing has been worse than not eating. I think if I was told I had to choose between food and cigarettes, it would be a real hard choice. The funny thing is, I hate it. Hate the smell, hate the taste. Why is it so hard to give up something you hate? I had no problem giving up the 2 ex-husbands!! Neither one of them smelled this bad and didn't actually try to kill me.

Keep up the good work. That's good that your hubby will pay for curves. My grandma was a real heavy smoker until she got really sick. My mom had to take care of her. That was the day that she quit smoking, she picked it up and went to light it and then she put it down. She hasn't smoked since then. My grandpa quit his cigars soon after that. It's funny seeing how they can't stand smoking and how they eat better and go for walks and take better care of themselves. And then I see old pictures of them from the 70s with cigarettes/cigars and beer in their hands. It's almost like they are completly different people. If they can do it so can you. You can do it!!!
