Okay, I am so excited to get this thing started. I have been keeping a blog on another site, but I really love the support here that everyone gets.

I plan to keep this updated quite frequently... so here we go!

I started Phen 30 Jan. 24th. The scale at the doctor's office read 228 when I got the prescription. But, my scale is reading totally different, which is fine... just not totally correct. It said 216 the first day. So... for convience sake, I will be using those numbers.

It has been a little over 2 weeks and I have dropped 14 lbs as of this morning. I am eating much less and counting calories (somewhere between 1200 and 1800 a day). I had done Jenny Craig last year and just for cost sake, couldn't finish it. But, I learned alot about food and fat, calories, sodium etc... so I am using that to my ability here.

Question for today is... is 14 lbs in 11 days too much? I mean, not that I am complaining by any means, but I just want to make sure that I am remaining healthy.

I have 90 lbs to lose and I feel like I am right on my way! This has to be the easiest thing that I have ever done... I am exercising a ton (I love to exercise, run, dance... etc.) and just watching what I am eating. I have totally cut out all caffeine (which is a miracle of the Lord!!!) and all sodas. I know that that will make a big difference.

So there we go... I hope that some of you respond and let me know if I am just loosing it way too fast...

Hey Wendy! Welcome!

I don't think that 14 pounds is too fast at the beginning. I know that people tend to lose a lot of weight at first and then it slows down. If that weight loss were to keep up at that pace then I might worry. However, since you are being supervised by a Dr. I would just lose and lose until the next appt. It sounds like you're getting enough calories which is important.

Are you exercising at all?

I look forward to reading about your progress!

Jill,

Thank you for responding. I haven't weighed lately and we also had two separate dinner parties at our house this weekend... so I am scared to see what I've done to myself!!!

Yes, I am exercising quite a bit. When I was very thin, I worked out close to 3 hours a day just doing weight training. I was training for a body building competition... and how I got here, not really sure! But, I am now doing 30 min to an hour 5-6 days a week of aerobics and then 3 times a week, doing light weight training. I have bulky muscles (which I know alot of people don't prefer but I love) under the fat that has collected on top... so I don't need to do much weight training... just enough to keep them in shape and get them back up to par.

So, thank you for answering my questions. My concern is that if I lose too much, my dr. will put me on the 15 mg. I want to stay up here! I love losing the weight. Today, I am wearing dress pants that I haven't been able to wear for more than 6 months. So, that is always encouraging!!!

Thank you, Jill!

I think that you're doing fine and if the Doctor does lower your dosage, you will probably still get great results. Just do your thing for now and cross that bridge when you come it. It seems like you're being healthy about things and I'm sure that your doctor would agree.

Enjoy your dinner parties!

Well, I haven't really updated this it seems like in forever! But, here we go...

I am now back to normal and I just lost 1 lb in the last week. Man! Those cramps don't make good for exercising and the cravings were killing me! So, I counted my pills and I have 9 more before a whole month of being on phen is gone. I am really going to strive to exercise as much as I can this last week in this full month on the phen. I really want to lose more!

But, I do have some good to say. I cleaned out my entire closet (which is a massive closet stocked full of clothes!). I took my "too big" clothes to a friend of mine that is losing too, just a bit larger than me. And then I got all the clothes that I had packed away and organized them nicely into stacks of sizes. I have 18's that I am keeping out for right now. I have a whole wardrobe of 16's and then about half a wardrobe of 14's. Then I have just a few of smaller sizes. So, I put them all in different bags and labeled them so that I don't have to go through them all when I drop... I just grab the bag that I need. That was fun to see all the awesome clothes that I haven't worn in forever!

I also pulled out alot of clothes that haven't fit for quite some time! Today I am wearing a skirt that I haven't worn in over a year. I think somewhere I said a year, but the more I think about it... it has been longer! I was in Cosmetology school when I wore it last and that 2 years ago!

Sometimes I am baffled by how I just got this big and didn't notice. I mean, I buy new clothes all the time and I just can't pinpoint a time that I had to buy a larger size, but I know it happened!

Anyways, there is my update! Thank you for all the support I have been given!!! I am going to finish my month strong!!!
