Hi Friends! I wrote this long message ( I seem to do that far too often...) About how happy I am to have found this forum blah blah and then I had to get up and take care of something and when I came back to my computer it had logged out so I have no idea if I am repeating myself or not....
Anyway - What I wrote was how wonderful it has been to find this wonderful fellowship of sisterhood everyday with women who share similar stories; mothers, hard working women who give a lot of themselves and have found themselves in a place where they feel the need to do something to change so they connect and inspire! Now how cool is that? What a great sisterhood! I wish I could take everyone out to lunch!
Monica - Thank you for the post. When I tell people my weight ( which is few and far between) they say I don't look it. I think their just being nice. I am so careful how I dress though that I think I just hide it well. Like Fridays at work I let my staff dress in jeans for Friday casual. I won't wear them unless I wear them with a long suit jacket over my big " baby got back" or else I'll just wear a jeans skirt. I just want to get out of this shell too ( Kimber ) and slip into a nice pair of size 8 or 6 jeans and wear and be able to show my butt and not worry. ( I really carry all my weight in my butt and thighs.) If I wear a shorter skirt I wear high boots to cover my big calves.
You asked about my workouts? Well today I did an hour of cardio oday: 20 min eliptical, 20 min run, 20 min stairs and then worked free weights - it was biceps today. I do an hour of cardio 5 days a week and an hour and a half on Saturday. I do free weights 5 days working seperate muscle groups.
I have been running for 13 years. Started after my son was born and like Forrest Gump just didn't stop. At first I couldn't huff up a flight of stairs, I was over 200 and very out of shape. Than I ran a mile, Then 2 and then a 5k and then pretty soon I ran marathons. I run because so women in some countries aren't allowed to walk out of their houses, I run because some people can't walk, I run just because I can.
-I have run at 145lbs, 12% body fat and qualified for Boston and I have run at 180lbs, 25%- like this last year and it took me over 5 hours to finish. ( That one of the many reason why I want to get back down to my goal weight.)I love the fellowship and the amazing human spirit! I love doing fundraisers too. Running keeps me sane although you might say I am insane for doing it. It is amazing the will power one can muster up if they want to and I love tapping into that. I'd encourage any woman to try it, even if it is just like the walk to cure breast cancer or anything.
Kimber - You are such a wonderful spirit. So positive and encouraging. I hope you take good care of yourself like you take care of everyone else. I know what you mean about the beach and summer. Lets make this one different! I am sick of hiding too. We can do this!
Jill - Black pants, ahh...what would I do without them? Long skirts, long suit jackets, black pants and snowmobile suit's j/k!) - Actually - too bad for me that MooMoo's like the one's from the 80's that Mrs Roper from Three's Company wore would be awesome to hide in...
Good night! Sweet skinny dreamin gals!
