I just thought I would but in and tell you that I now eat sugar free candy and WW chocolate candies which are one point per peice, so I kind of go off of the point system but one point per peice means it is good in my book and it tastes good too. Then you don't feel so guilty about chocolate. Just my 2 cents.
And as far as the water goes, I would drink more than 32 ounces of soda a day. I started myself on water and it made me feel really sick for the first two weeks, not sure why, but now I love water and really don't even finish a can of soda anymore. I work a desk job though so every morning I come in get my pitcher and put ice, lemons, cucumbers and water in it up to full. Just over 64 ounces, then I just keep filling my cup and once the pitcher is gone, I know I had my water. Then I go home and drink more but if I don't get much more I am okay with my 64 ounces.

Wow, this is my first official day and I am a little overwhelmed by all the information. But I am encouraged by all of you and I think that my failures with dieting in the past are related to trying to lose the weight in isolation. This forum is very helpful and should help me stay focused.

Hi again, Hon. I agree with you; it can be overwhelming at first. Take your time..you will probably read 15 times a day like we all did as we started our trek...

I am somewhat confused. My Dr. told me to stay away from Carbs. No bread, milk, pasta and other things. I am addicted to coffee, I drink it all day long. I am worried that I will not be able to break this habit. I hate water. Please help.

Hi
I have trouble with keeping up the water intake. I started to drink PROPEL flavored waters and they go down real easy. It helped me because I like you aren't a fan of 8 glasses a day.
It makes my stomach feel a little funny.
The flavored water made all the difference in the world. Try the different brands and find the one you like. Propel seems like water with a little substance and it tastes great.
I drink coffee once a day with half milk and lots of nutrasweet (plus sugar) but I cut way down on the sugar.

Hope this helps you because water flushes out so it is a needed part of dieting. Plus it's a little filling so you don't eat so much.

? for you! What is the minimum amount of calories needed to lose weight in a healthy way? I had about 1000 calories yesterday, and with the phentermine had a hard time doing even that. Is that too little or should that be ok?
