HERE I am...starting a journal myself when all I have ever read is other peoples. I am finally taking the step....... I have tried so many other things that gave me either headaches or worse that I am excited but scared to try something that seems to help the masses. My doctor never even brought this medication up...she won't pprescribe it. I discovered it through a friend who used it and said it was a miracle pill. Lord knows I need a miracle so we'll see. I made my appointment with a Doctor who deals with it and I'll be getting my first taste of it Thursday the 23rd! I am trying to find out what the normal weight loss or pant size is the first month so if anyone reading this can tell me that would be great. As of right now I am old (36), tired and have no stamina. I'm lathargic all day except for the first two hours after drinking my mojo juice in the morning (coffee) then it's down hill from there. My husband says to me it's sad that that is the best I will feel all day. Anyway....If anyone has ever needed help physically it's me. I'll keep you posted on my way!

congratulations on finally posting that is a big step and you will be amazed at the wonderful support you will receive here. I have to admit though phentermine isnt a miracle pill it just like any other pill takes hard work on your part. It will curb your appetite and help with energy but you will have to watch your diet, exercise, and drink plenty of water if you want to loose and keep it off. Start by not letting your calories fall under 1200 break your meals up till about 6 smaller meals a day it really helps if you eat something every 3 hours I know I always thought eating that often and 1200 calories omg gonna gain weight but that is so far from the truth I would only eat 1 time a day and now I am eating like a pig and more happy, healthy, and looking better than I have in years. I would also suggest keeping a food log so you can keep up with your calories, protein,ect... I use fitday.com its a really great site once you start to eat properly and get plenty of water in that may help out a great deal with the headaches good luck keep me posted how you are doing and if I can be of any help or if you need anything I am here for you good luck and so glad to have you on the forum

I was so excited to see the two replies already! Thank you  If either of you were around 200 starting out I would love to hear how much weight or pant sizes you lost within the first 4 weeks. What you do eat when you snack all day and what should I expect as far as feeling goes? I am so excited and I will let you know how it goes daily!! Thursday is the big day! I've heard it's very expensive....... It's a shame insurance companies would rather pay for diabetic treatments, complications of heart disease and all else that ocmes with obesity then pay for the medication that will help!

Thanks a BUNCH!!!

Well I started off at 275 wearing a size 22 on Thursday I will have been on it for 1 month. so far I am down 1 pants size working on 2 lost 16.5 lbs as of last thursday the phentermine did curb my appetite i didnt get energy with it though and the only side effect that I have had was constipation. I regularly check my bp and heart rate that is good as far as what i eat i eat a ton of food a day usually for breakfast i have 2 egg whites, serving of chicken or turkey breast (sandwich meat) some salad yogurt and grapes occasionally i will also have some oatmeal or grits. breakfast is the most important meal so i make sure to get all my food groups in for lunch i usually have a smart ones meal for snack in between i have grapes, grapefruit or some veggies, and for dinner i have just whatever nothing in particular i pretty much eat anything i want i just watch my portions last night for dinner i had grilled chicken breast, scalloped potato, shrimp salad, and a small piece of garlic bread i havent restricted myself from anything but fried foods and soda and also i dont use salt on my foods i use lemon pepper if anything or alot of times i will make some homeaid salsa and use that to season my food i am getting more food in each day than i know what to do with i am trying so hard to get to 1200 calories but seem to be stuck at around 900 just whatever you eat watch your portion size make sure you get plenty of water in the phentermine will give you dry mouth so you want to drink plenty of water and exercise start off slow and work your way up cant wait to see how it goes for you i am excited for you

I started my Adipex 37.5 pills this morning and I swear it felt like a rocket taking off inside once it released into my system. I was SUPERCHARGED.....like a nut I ran around the house...who needs a gym? Between laundry for 5, cleaning and cooking dinner for every one else I have had a full work out! I was worried at 11:30 when my tummy started to rumble...I thought oh great here it comes...it has failed me. How nice it was to eat 1/2 a turkey sandwich w/ a tall glass of water and be full full full! I'm crossing my fingers it stays this way. I'll get back on Monday and let everyone know if it still has the same OOMPH! WOW..... how exciting! I will post some pictures soon...if I haven't torn all of them up. :smt048
Current weight on first day 203 goal is to get to the 180 within 4 weeks... Is that realistic? By the end of 8 weeks I want to be at 160...... That's 40 POUNDS!!!! Can it be done?????

Stay tuned!!! (all comments welcomed!)

honestly I dont think you should loose 40 lbs in 8 weeks you should take it slow its much healthier to loose 2 to 3 lbs a week we didnt put it on overnight we cant expect too loose it overnight take it slow continue to eat right and get your water in take your time on this so that you dont gain it back its better be healthy

Hi and Welcom! Jessie is right, 40 lbs in 8 weeks is too much. The 2 to 3 lbs a week is great and recommended to be healthy. I started at 250 and lost 12 11.4 lbs in 4 weeks. My goal is to lose 12 lbs a month, which is 3 lbs a week. Make sure you eat right. Good luck on your weightloss. Angelique
