Hello all-

I've been reading alot of your posts and it is really encouraging to see so many people have had success with phentermine. I just started taking it yesterday - 37.5 mg.

So far I love the energy rush it gives me, I've been drinking a ton of water (drank about 72 oz yesterday) but still am thirsty all the time. Getting to sleep wasn't too terrible last night - I expected worse. I normally have a terrible time falling asleep anyway, so I really didn't notice too much difference with taking the phentermine.

A little about me, I'm 31, 5' 6", and my weight as of yesterday was 192 pounds - ouch it is hard to admit that. I have struggled with my weight since I was about 20, have tried many diets and many weight loss products/pills. I even tried Xenical but it just didn't work for me. My biggest problem is I have very little will power when it comes to turning down food. I love food!

My goal is to loose 62 pounds. It seems like such an impossible task - that is so much weight! But I am hoping with the help of phentermine and with the support of people on this board I might just make it this time.

Hi Erinlee, Welcome. Like Dreamy, I started my phen in February (I think on the 21st) and I've dropped 12 pounds so far (well 13 last week but I had a small gain this week LOL - it happens!) Anyway, the drugs help for sure on the hunger and on the cravings and for some on the energy level (mine has evened out - the beginning I could have wallpapered the county I had so much extra energy!) But what's really been helping me is posting to my own journal and supporting everyone else in their struggles. It's an amazing place - I can't believe I've known these women for only 5 weeks! Keep in touch. We're always glad to make new friends and will absolutely support you on your way to 120! Best, Ellen

Hi Erinlee,

I'm also new to phen. Actually I took it in '96 and had great results. I started on Saturday with 37.5 - 1/2 in am and 1/2 by 1 pm. So far so good! I'm down 4.5 pounds but know it's mostly water weight.

We have similar stats - 34, 5'6, my current weight is 179.5. I would like to get to 145 by mid September. My first goal is 15-20 by June 10th when I go to Vegas.

What kind of diet and exercise plan are doing? I'm looking for a diet buddy...interested?

Good luck with everything.

Traci from so cal

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

The phentermine is definately helping with the hunger - I used to be always hungry and I really haven't felt hungy at all. I know I probably shouldn't be weighing in daily - but I can't help it. Weighed in this morning and I've lost 3 pounds so far! I'm sure it is only water weight but heck I still like seeing that scale go down anyway!

As for exercise, I really haven't been doing much. I've been walking a couple miles in the evening, but I know I really need to do more. I hate the thought of joining a gym, but I think I'm going to have to. Maybe one of those women only gyms would be better - I used to belong to a regular gym and hated it, ended up never going even though I continued to pay the membership fee for a couple years.

Traci11 - I'd love to be your diet buddy. What all does that entail? I'm assuming we support each other, but I'm new to this so let me know!

Hi Erinlee,

I just started two days ago and am new to this too. I'm 5'5" and starting weight was 163. I've lost 3 pounds already. I know that don't seem like much compared to what alot of others have to lose but I have struggled with my weight all my life too. Going up and down. My highest weight ever was 207 and that was after I had my daughter. That was almost 24 years ago so it's been a battle to lose for years. I dont know when I wasnt on a diet or trying some fad. I had taken Acutrim in the early 90's and went from 170 down to 125 pounds but gained it all back in a few years. About 4 years ago I weighed 187. I took Meridia back then for 3 mo. and lost over 20 pounds. I kept most of it off with diet and exercise but have been stuck at this darn plateau, The phen might just be the jump start all of us need. Good luck in your journey. I (as I'm sure all of us here) are looking forward to see your future results.

Hi Erinlee,

Glad to hear that the scale is going down! I weigh myself everyday too...it gives me motivation. I lost another 1.5 so that's 6 since Saturday. Yeah!

I figure since we started about the same time and have similar goals, we could help motivate each other and have someone other than ourselves to be 100% accountable. I don't know about you, but I have yet to tell anyone (including hubby) that I started taking phen. I'm sure he'll ask when the credit card bill comes or when he notices my weight loss. I feel a bit guity having to use a drug as a crutch when my husband preaches diet and exercise.

If you want to be buddies offline, just let me know and I'll give you my email address.

I look forward to hearing about your daily food intake, exercise, ups and down and all the weight you're gonna lose!
